Love people hating on New Jersey when the team we played against is ‘toronto’ it’s like the butt of all Canadian stereotypes when you live in America.

people from the greatest city in the world ‘nyc’ move to new jersey…then there’s Toronto
Toronto is the butt of all Canadian stereotypes to you guys?

Have you ever been to Toronto. About 60% of the population wasn't born in Canada. People move here from all over the world. Heck, my next door neighbour is from Brooklyn. I don't understand what Canadian stereotype Toronto fits.

I don't blame the Devils, Murray played the last game against them too and almost stole it and got them a point despite the Leafs playing like shit.

This time the Leafs played well and got a 2-0 lead and Murray is on some streak right now where it was going to be impossible to score 3 legal goals on him.

Might as well try to run some interference and see if it sticks.

NJ dominated that game after it was 2-0, what the hell were you watching?

I’ve seen each of those goals called as allowed goals against the devils over a course of a season. The fans that were there tonight have as well. We’re not idiots. Stop gaslighting us. Clean your beer up and stfu. Maybe you’ll find something you’re good at as opposed to calling the correct plays on ice.

There were idiotic fans in the building that threw shit at the netting, and it ricocheted and hit other Devils fans lol and you're just making work harder for Devils employees by having to clean up garbage because you can't accept legitimate calls.

And the same can be said about New Jersey.

You can't run the goalie over while he is getting back into his net, what part of that play is subjective? The interference goal in the crease is a bit more nuanced, but the Leafs have been on both ends of this play several times, so perhaps we have more experience with how this play is called. I've seen goals called back for less.
He didn’t get run over lol. Maybe Murray’s malnourished looking geriatric body shouldn’t be trying to set picks on skaters

None.

Toronto is a smaller, cleaner, drastically safer version of NYC.

Speaking of delay of game penalty. How about Murray nudging the net off that caused a 5 minute delay….
Should have been a penalty as well, horrible missed call Murray absolutely got away with 1 there. He made it look "natural" but watching it on replay, absolutely knocked it off on purpose.

Marner was blatantly held up on a rush opportunity as well that likely would've led to a breakaway or a "bad angle" breakaway, uncalled as well

I get the frustration from the devils fans, but you gotta know the rules. Those kinda goals almost always come back and if i'm not mistaken I think 2 of them were immediately waived off by the officials. The first goal there was clear contact in the crease on Murrays skate/pad, he could have slid further left to make the save. The second one was just obvious contact and the 3rd one was a clear kick. There isn't really anything to debate with those, just very rare to see 3 of those plays in 1 game.

Mind blowing that they don't know the rules

You cannot hit the goalie or make contact with the goalie in the crease and score

You cannot kick the puck into the net

Very straight forward, it's frustrating seeing your team put the puck in the net illegally 3 times in 1 night I get it. But you gotta understand the rules, those were the correct calls. There was a similar play where their goalie was knocked down in a different game earlier and their fan base lost their shit because it wasn't called. Maybe frustration caused by inconsistency over multiple games ? But these were the correct calls. They're lucky they didn't get a delay of game penalty for that.
Are you kidding? During last years playoffs, there was a 1,000 post thread where Oilers fans had a tantrum about how the offside call had been applied for 10 + years.

This hamfisted calling out by Canadian fan bases towards American ones is hypocritical and offensive.

Don't remember anytime seeing fans at the ACC/Scotiabank arena throwing full beer cans at the opposing players because the didn't like the outcome going on in the game.

Its okay to admit that your fans at the game tonight were in the wrong for doing so.

A quick Google search and I found articles about Leafs fans throwing beer on the ice at a Sabres game. So yeah, I guess some fans go to other team's arenas and do it instead? I don't want to turn this into a "look at this instance, X fans are just as bad!" schtick but shit happens and every team's fans has idiots. Tonight it was Devils fans. I think the anger was reasonable but the actions were stupid.

Every goalie does that and gets away with it. We just recently had a playoff game against Tampa where Vasy did that on a freaking PP and got away with it.

Not everyone throws shit and full beer cans on opposing players because they didn't like the refs calls.

Fans were still throwing shit after the game ended as the Leafs were walking off. That is not the same as throwing a jersey on the ice.

Ok that still could be considered by the NHL rulebook, blame the refs for not calling it. Dude kicked the net off so hard that there was a legit delay because the ice crew had to use power tools.

Yeah, that was exactly my point lol. Leafs played well for 30 minutes and got a 2-0 lead. Devils were not going to score 3 goals on Murray no matter how well they played tonight.

It was over right then and there.

The third was textbook kicking motion. Anyone who has ever read the rule knows it's obviously no goal. First two you can argue about.

Honestly, probably would've happened in most arenas with 3 disallowed goals. Pretty wild.
I’ve seen way more egregious kicks result in goals in the last few yeara

Heh, Cause the people who go to bluejays games and Leafs games are totally different types of people.

100% of the Drunk idiots are fans of the blue jays while the Leafs fans are all gentlemen.:thumbu:

Take the L leafs fans, You tried to dunk on Devils fans but you are just making fools of yourselves.

Go enjoy the win.

I guarantee a large portion of the fans in attendence don't put away the cart when they're done shopping. Since they don't care about littering garbage either

They can’t even do that because they know it’s superficial and their history tells them that these are the small fleeting victories they need to cherish.

Not the Refs fault Jersey can't play within the rules

First goal he was stopped from being able to move freely in his own crease which caused a goal.
2nd goal, he was stopped from getting back into his net and was clearly interfered with.
3rd goal, kicking motion.
It's not the Leafs fault New Jersey can't play within the rules
Might want to watch the first goal again. And see that he wasnt stopped from being able to move. His skate was touched and Murray had every chance to move after that. Then he moved his pad and wasn’t interefeeed by Bastian
Also watch the second goal. Tater was skating behind the.m net and moved out of the way from hitting Murray. Tatar has three options. Hit him, go left or go right. He went right and Murray backed into him and then flopped like he was shot.

Translation: Get over it, we all get boned.

Instead of saying that, how about the league is accountable for calling goals on same similar shit or not wiping out similar plays out or we not allowed to have accountability for the league?

Consistency would be cool.

Leafs fans be like, “Ah Rule 49 B sub section 31 clearly states…” Then are real quite about the human bandaid in net with the Michelin man chest protector in Matt Murray intentionally knocking the net off the pegs and not getting deserved delay of game penalty lol.

Considering they played better tonight than they did in Toronto and they scored 3 there, I'd disagree.
