Why should they sell when they're still in a playoff spot? NYR didn't. If you have to rely solely on Jack to carry you then maybe you don't deserve the postseason.

Does Fitz realize the situation and go all in or is it status quo? Who knows? Gotta wait till Friday.

The idea that there is “no reason to buy” is incredibly short sighted unless your definition of buying is just trading for rentals.

If the Devils can make an impact move now they have to make it - they can still make the playoffs and that player will be here to improve he depth when jack is back.

This sucks cause it severely hampers any chance at a cup - but we have enough to still push for the playoffs

Sorry for Jack but its objectively the best decision and action to take(if he had a choice)..... we'll miss him.

Maybe not Cup contenders anymore but f***ing we paying Timo, Bratt & Nico to be more than Jack Hughes fans. It started last night so be it, it'll have to keep going.

There is a reason to buy. We have a ton of cap space, we are in a playoff spot and we are in a spiral out of that spot unless we buy. Pissing another season away with the rest of the core is dumb.

You can use that 3rd before the draft and guarantee that you get a full year of the player you used it on - I hope you’re less flippant with money.

I was a person who always liked to scout, find talented young players and watching how they are developing. I always never liked short term trades.

And Im still is. So im on buyers side. Yeah, I think they should buy. There are prospects and picks outside Nemec, Casey and Sylayev. They just need to buy more long term pieces. Would be great to find good 2nd line level center or young NHL level player with this level of ceiling.

Sometimes you need to take a step back in order to move forward (although it might feel like 10 steps back).

I wouldn't be a buyer if I was the Devils especially for rentals. Fitz should be let go. There's a lot of things to be considered in "rebuilding" the team including what should we expect Jack's production to look like.
