I think he was referring more to his play on the PK.Interesting. Keefe said in the post game that Haula might have played his best game this season so far
So the charts are not reflecting that.
Cue the "assume Keefe doesn't believe in those charts"
I think he was referring more to his play on the PK.
Without seeing actually statistics it certainly feels like that is true. Jack and Bratt are just relentless with how aggressive they are on the point to create turnovers for an 2 on 1 the other way.that goal today was not technically a SHG, but Jack in ~45 shorthanded minutes this year is outscoring the opposition 2 goals to 1 when he is on the ice lol

I know there were questions today about when the team would practice next, and in the postgame video Keefe mentioned the team having 9 days off. That would put them back at practice on Tuesday 2/18.
Oh for sure, Haula was pretty bad other than the PK but I think it was mostly Keefe just trying to praise a veteran who's been out for a while and not throwing him under the bus.Oh, he was speaking about the PK before that.... Possible!
On the unrelated note, Haula still looks slow as molasses, I assume that is due to the injury and slow recovery... Foot/ankle injuries take forever to get close to 90-100% if they ever do.
As bad as him and Luke were last game it was the complete opposite in this one, pretty solid overall, they both had a couple of really nice plays breaking up what would have been other wise great chances against. Luke had a goal as well.i didn't catch the last game, or most of this game. I heard Nemec was pretty awful vs. Vegas. Did he improve today?
I’d say it was a bit of a mixed bag. Nemec was very solid positionally to my eyes and was good with carrying and passing the puck. But he stlll looked half a step too slow to react and had some struggles against the wall and with contested puck movement. Not bad on defense all things considered and good with any open space with or without thr puck .i didn't catch the last game, or most of this game. I heard Nemec was pretty awful vs. Vegas. Did he improve today?
I also don't see it with this Montreal core. I don't think they'll be a playoff team next year or even three years after that.
The team will be a handful after Demidov comes over. His ceiling is ridiculous and his play style looks more NHL-friendly than Michcov, who’s filthy but quirky.
They got a number of good center prospects too (must be nice lol).
They do have a nice young group. The girls for them will be knowing when to move on from some guys and when to add some different elements to complement their young players. As Buffalo has shown it’s difficult to just keep adding young players and hoping they can learn to compete without good veteran leadership. The team will be a handful after Demidov comes over. Came here to say this. Thought Nemec was solid today. As bad as him and Luke were last game it was the complete opposite in this one, pretty solid overall, they both had a couple of really nice plays breaking up what would have been other wise great chances against. Luke had a goal as well.
This was Allen’s best game as a Devil from my point of view. He simply looked so secure and sure. Rebound control and positioning. His angles, jumping out above the blue paint to take away the net on a couple of key shots in the first. His anticipation of plays, like in his stop on Caulfield coming across the crease at a key moment. Never over reacting. Really he almost didn’t look like the same guy.
I thought we won the first period clearly and loved how we did what Noesen said post game on Thursday - got the puck deep, controlled possession and played in the Montreal end. The first 12 minutes of the 2d period until we got the second goal were dicey. That was where Allen won us the game and we bent but didn’t break.
I think Montreal has a bright future. They are not only fast but big and strong. Is Hutson the guy they took over Mirchkov? Whatever, he’s a stud and sort of a pocket lesser version of Makar. Also the big guy with the name i can’t remember that starts with X.
It’s called defensethis is insanity, sorry.
Luke at 21 is already showing signs of being better than anything Larrson ever did
