I get the Bruins reference to their series vs Florida in 2023, but I'm not remembering the significance of that series for the Devils, and the Zajac goal in 2019.

I meant last hockey year, not 2023 lol. We don't get Keefe if Leafs win that series and the Zajac OT goal pushed us down in the lottery odds and we got Jack that lottery. He'd be a LA King if Zajac didn't score

Playing great defensively and playing well all together. They have really sunk their teeth into this style of play and it’s paying dividends

Happy that palat is having a mini surge.

For all the beatings he gets with NJD fan base, good to see him get some goals. He seems to have usurped the drink stirrer role for real now. He scored some pivotal goals and some key plays over the last stretch of games.

On the other side of the coin, Haula is just playing very mid. And his role isn't really reduced. He is on a 3rd line with some decent players. Okay no Mercer right now (but Mercer was there recently), and no Hughes to boost him up a bit. But he's not really standing out offensively at all.

The only reason it’s memorable is because the board had a meltdown over that goal because it reduced the lottery odds and presumably pushed us back a spot.

Then after the lottery we were all laughing about how if he hadn’t scored that we actually wouldn’t have won it.
