Hattie sees me sitting on the couch. Jumps into my lap. "Hello I would like snuggles plz." Sits there happy as a clam.

Until she hears a snail glide by on the sidewalk outside.

Hattie: ACTIVATE TASMANIAN DEVIL MODE

She is such a goober but I love her anyway.

Well, 3 weeks after we had to put Max down, my wife decided that we needed another dog. Today she came home with Gracie. She’s a 4 month old rescue. Malinois/Lab mix. She’s all legs, ears and tail right now but should fill out to a decent size. Really good temperament, good with other dogs, people, and the cat. The cat on the other hand, is not amused and is already hard at work establishing who is boss….They’ll figure it out.
2 months in with our new dog Grace. She’s going on 7 months and is getting fixed on Friday. Belgian Malinois are amazing dogs, but not for everyone. The energy and athleticism is off the charts, but they are incredibly smart and loyal and really eager to please. These are not couch dogs and need to run hard, every day.

If you are a runner, this dog is great and can go 5-10 miles easily. They will also play ball until your arm falls off. Grace and I play 2 ball. I throw one as far as I can and she goes full speed to retrieve, and full speed back to me. As soon as she drops I throw the next one and she never stops running. We do that, full speed for 20min, twice a day. Then she passes out for 15min and is ready to go again. I’ve never seen athleticism in a dog like I have with this breed.

Gets along great with the cat, but can play a little rough with him, but the cat’s holding his own.

Spa day again. They had an outdoor holiday market going on in the shopping center where the groomer is, so we walked around outside after she got all fancied up with her hair bows and made a lot of people smile (one of my favorite things about having a dog). Tried to take some pics with both bows in but she's not real cooperative about that so the one in her crate in the car is it.

My duplex neighbor made a Trader Joe's run this morning (closest one is about an hour away) and bought a $7 bag of specialty treats just for Hattie. She said her daughter told her she couldn't dog-nap her.

Spoiled rotten.

This little girl had her first birthday with us yesterday (she's either 2 or 3 depending on if you believe the vet or the rescue agency)! The kids spoiled her with lots of presents and treats, and Clover was so excited. We also did a doggie dna test to find out what she was and it came back that she's another golden doodle, just like her best friend, Banjo.

This is my daughter's cat - he just turned one year old (rescue). He is a very sweet cat and she is going to put his Bruins jersey on soon. His name is Ikea because they actually went out to shop for furniture, stopped to pick up cat food for their two cats, ended up getting Ikea and never going to the store....

My duplex neighbor is dog-sitting a black lab mix named Luna. About two years old, very sweet. We wanted her and Hattie to meet. So I held Hattie while Luna came out. They looked at each other, sniffed, no problem.

Until I put Hattie down, that is. She immediately started barking and charged right at Luna, who turned tail and ran to the other side of the couch, despite being about four times bigger than Hattie.

They ended up getting along, but Hattie wanted Luna to know who's really in charge LOL.
