Haven’t seen a single post after the game saying they played poorly. You should quote some of them.
Then you need to read. jersey12 had like five posts alone which I was mainly referring to,t then theres one post saying all we are is just PP merchants like the Rags

10 games with 0 points and barely even being noticeable out there…this is very very concerning considering Mercer never had great underlying numbers to begin with. I’m getting quite frightened at the prospect that his first couple of seasons were a fortunate high water mark for him. He’s looked so completely ineffective that it’s hard not to panic.
164 games of solid play might be a fluke, this 10 game cold streak is more accurate of his abilities.

Pretty easy not to panic about it.

In my mind the Devils are tailor made to play an aggressive defensive system in the offensive and neutral zone but play a bend but don’t break counter-attack defense in the defensive zone. Obviously just my opinion.

The Devils should generate lots of odd man rushes with their roster but the way they defend they generate only a few.

Isn't that kinda how we had it in 2021-2022 and we kinda blew the barn doors off with rush chances but also crashed hard defensively. Then Ruff and co tweaked it last year to what we've had since which is a bit more reserved and more quick pass possession based...

Eh you’re oversimplifying it. 200 games is usually the watermark to determine who a player really is. And he was productive in those 164 games yes, but his underlying numbers didn’t really match. And this 10 game run is not simply a cold streak. He’s literally contributing nothing out there. If that was Holtz he’d be getting labeled a bust already.

If it’s his shoulder then that may be as good a news as it gets but means they can’t tell how bad things are until the swelling goes down.

If it’s the same shoulder as last time they’ll probably opt for surgery to get it back to 100% rather than go the rehab route. That would put him out awhile.

So nothing negative from that tweet, just speculation on one scenario.

Horrible decision to let him play if it’s concussion related
But did we ever get a good look at the 2nd hit? Maybe the 2nd one is the one where actually got hurt?

But I do think it's pretty crazy that a week after losing your other #1 draft pick in part because you threw him back out there after a big hit. You do the exact same thing with your other #1?

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if maybe they wisened up after the fact and Hughes was pulled for precautionary reasons.
