Bad outcome, but fun game! Packed house, the place was really rocking. A good amount of Jersey fans. Met a few a couple hours before the game that didn't look like they would even make it to the puck drop.
It would just be nice if the fanbase didn't immediately go into break glass in case of emergency mode every time we have any kind of lose.
We had one 4 out of 5 going into this one and that was without Nico and not having Jack for nearly 2 full games.
A lot of this shit will work itself out as the players get their feet under them and key guys return to the lineup.
Yup. Losing sucks, but it seems like every time we do the sky is falling. The team is having some trouble right now. Nothing seems to be really clicking, especially defensively, and we’re missing our top 2 C’s.It would just be nice if the fanbase didn't immediately go into break glass in case of emergency mode every time we have any kind of lose.

I still can't believe that garbage broadcast spent half the second period interviewing Sakic instead of calling the game.
That was a garbage as well.In fairness, they did the same with Marty when we were on TNT last time against Washington.

My son is really turning into a sports trash talker. He looooved pointing out the 2001 cup banner. What a jerk. I'm so proud.
The Wood goal went through his glove arm and sucked. We were tied going into the third so it couldn't have been ALL bad, no?
@Bleedred how were the goals? Would Blackwood have been better?
I'm fairly confident people weren't talking about both Jack and Nico being out at the same time were under the umbrella of a "couple of injuries in the top 6". No team can handle that and so far we've done ok, which all we need to do. Stay afloat until they're back.
That we're a .500 team without our PP?Not sure if anyone heard Biz take after the game... but he's defn spot on.
Our 5 on 5 play has been horrific, especially when it comes to defense...
Did you congratulate your son on the Avs finally NOT getting shutout? My son has turne

The target is absolutely on us. With or without Nico or Hughes. It's not the loss, it's getting bitch slapped that hurts ...
We we're out hit 17-9 but our forwards were out hit 12 to 6. And Bastian and Lazar are half of those 6...the top 9 doesn't hit and can't play physical at all. And all of that was while losing the puck possession battle pretty solidly.
We we're out shot 32 to 23...10 of those 23 shots were from our defensemen...our forwards were out shot 26 to 12...
The old BS assumption is you can't lead in hits when you always have the puck... Colorado did exactly that last night. The Devils were punched in the mouth repeatedly with zero push back....ugly, ugly, ugly performance.
I saw Cam Jan play over here in the UK.That game last night was not very fun to watch. Here's a funny picture I apparently posted to the interwebs 10 years ago today.

In related news, at least we didn't lose to the Sharks.
I'm not sure Nico or Jack make much of difference in that game honestly. Jack by himself can turn the possession game around but neither one of those guys are going to do much for the lopsided physical play we saw last night ...in fact, that is why both of them are out right now.The target is absolutely on us. With or without Nico or Hughes.

Haha, I probably stole it from someone on here.I remember this when it happened.
I may have been the one to ask someone to make this meme lol.
What this brings to mind is Roid Rage. I think the NHL needs to do some extensive PED testing on Colton to find out if he was on the juice because like you said, what he did was just plain Bizarre and UNHINGED sh*t.My thoughts from this game:
Colton: Dude was ON something... and I mean he did some slalom skiing into this game. HIs goal celebration was weird, the hit on Hughes was ridiculous. It's honestly crazy to me that people are trying to say it's clean. The broadcast (Eddie O is in outer space) was trying to say Hughes turned at the last second which you couldn't even tell in slow motion. All you could see is Colton having direct eye contact with the Hughes numbers the entire time then crushed him in a vulnerable position when he didn't have the puck... then continue to lose control and skate right over to crosscheck Meier right in the chops. Bizarre behavior.
He'll need to keep that cloak on 24/7 until Jack and Nico get back.We shouldn't really be worried about Bratt but he just put together a few games wearing an invincibility cloak.
