Fact is we have no one capable of retaliation.
This is not about getting one magic player who can retaliate, whatever the heck you think that means. Collectively as a group they simply need to chose to play dirtier. There's plenty of teams with high skilled top players who have no problem being dirty and standing up for themselves.

It shouldn't be this way, but this is the garbage culture that the NHL has cultivated with their refusal to properly officiate and punish goonery.

Just what we need an idiot who puts us down a man when the PK is struggling. I’m not saying we have that player, but you can’t retaliate when you have a kill as bad as ours right now.
Better to have half of your lineup watching from the press box or the infirmary

Once Nosek returns I'd gladly swap Lazar for someone with a little more bastard in their game.

Ask the Leafs how adding a goon has worked out in both protecting their players and winning games (it hasn't worked)

The only thing that will stop dirty shit is the league putting its foot down. They won't so you will keep seeing star players get hurt across the league
If the league wanted to crack down on dirty plays, protect their stars, and focus on a high-skilled game they could do so tomorrow. They choose not to.

No. They were on the mark. It was two players competing for a 50/50 puck.

One player a four-year veteran who is significantly more mature physically and a 20-year-old in his first season of pro hockey.

If Luke is going to play in the NHL, he is going to need to learn what he can and can't do at this stage of his career.

Jack was similarly susceptible in his first three seasons.

Yeah man...He needs to be aware of players lining him up full speed with his back turned and the put not even there.

Hate to say it but we need Ryan Reaves to f*** people up

Lol. The Leafs are too busy reaping the many amazing benefits of having Ryan Reaves on their payroll (for 3 years).

You’ll just have to watch Leaf games to see Reaves do nothing after something happens to Leafs player and then fantasize that he’s a Devil while doing nothing.

Right, I have been saying this for years now. Teams that cheat constantly barely get more penalties than teams that don't because of game management. Interfere, grab, elbow, punch guys, whatever. Do it constantly and you'll maybe get one extra penalty per game.

It was boarding. They called a penalty and everything.
