Hank often falls on his stomach after the shot or even before the shot. He takes himself out of position constantly. He needs to correct that ASAP, otherwise comes playoffs, he will get screwed.

Based on the quality of the hockey club. If you don't believe me, wait it out.

And the quality of this Rangers team makes you think they can make any noise in playoffs, and when going win-loss-win-loss isn't an option?

I'd still go with Lundqvist tomorrow. He has the Capitals number the last couple of seasons.

I have a feeling AV is going to play mind games again, and go with Talbot though.

Ostensibly another concussion.

don't mean for anyone to be hurt, but i got to say it looked like he walked off pizzed off ref didn't make call.... if he isn't concussed i will be even more aggitated

He is actually one of the best goaltenders when it comes to positioning. Good thing you are here to point out his flaw after 8 years

Watch Sather throw away picks and prospect for rentals just to make sure we get into the playoffs. Then it´s a first or second round quick exit. How did this team beat Pitts 5-1?

ugh. why arent more people talking about this...

this is terrible. his career is close to being finished. maybe his eyesight was hindering him. have to say though, Marc has been taking blow after blow over the years...

Because it wasn't a penalty. The head/jaw wasn't targeted. Just happened to catch him there. Clean, hard hit. Bad luck. Hope he's ok, but didn't look good.

 Thanks for a good laugh after a miserable game.

But seriously, I swear...sometimes I wonder if prime Wayne Gretzky would cut it on these boards...I can just imagine his first 3 game point-less streak, all hell would break loose and trade Gretzky proposals would be everywhere.

Not speaking to you personally, but anyone who has watched as much hockey over the years as you have should recognize that good players have bad stretches of play, and even (GASP!) bad seasons. The notion that some posters here have of "Callahan sucks, Lundqvist sucks, trade all of them" is just nauseating.

I'm not saying I agree with all of that stuff, however, the reality is this team is just not built to succeed as we currently stand. With that said, if it means giving up a couple of "untouchables" to build something that could be really special? I wouldn't lose any sleep. We traded Thomas Sandstrom and Tony Granato for Bernie Nichols back in the day. Thomas Sandstrom was one of my favorites. That trade lead us to Messier. A little heartache for a cup is a trade I'm willing to make.

At present, no. Never insinuated that.

But I think at the end of the season, the Rangers end up higher in the standings than the Devils, with an actual statistical shot. I don't think that's a horrid reach despite the overwhelming propensity of the more infantile demographic on this board to scream Chicken Little lines after a controversial loss.

People keep bring up before the lockout as if it was really any worse. There's two paths to be on in the NHL: at the top, or at the bottom on your way up. I'd rather be on a sinking ship than a ship that isn't moving. The Rangers are nothing more than a ok hockey team that really has no legitimate chance at winning the Cup. Been that way for awhile. I'd rather be the Sabres or the Panters, losing every night but in the meantime stocking up on fantastic farm systems.

The only team in a worse situation is the Oilers who have somehow managed to do the impossible and stagnate at the bottom.

I don't think the team itself was bad on the last goal. It was just a shot from the point. There wasn't even a screen. Callahan played bad since he caused the PP, though, if that's what you're referring to.

Yeah there was, it was Dom Moore.

Soft goal, but there was a screen.

When we sign Callahan for 5 yrs and $5 or 5.5 per I'm gonna be mad.

This team is just mentally weak. They played poorly after the Janssens goal. Hank playing inconsistently is the cherry on top to this .500 mediocrity.

Its certainly a roster issue at this point. I can see where AV wants this team to go and I think its what the team should be if it wants to contend. But, they just don't have the right pieces to do that atm.
