trughwig only one on panel with the ballz to say truth about jannsen goal.. u wonder y this crap continues to go, too many dumazzezzz

Hey, the Wolfpack lost yet again! At least they got two goals on their 20 shots this game. What a great organization! Greenville's fallen off the rails, too.

Should not have lost this game. I think it's time to admit we're just an average team. I HOPE we make the playoffs.

Rangers played like crap after Janssen got that goal--which was complete horse ****. It got New Jersey back into the game but the Rangers only have themselves to blame for what happened after that. They got outworked by Jagr on New Jersey's 2nd goal. John Moore got caught playing the puck instead of the man on Ryder's goal. Henrik needed to stop that. Richards unforced icing of the puck took away our time out. Got outworked--outgrinded along the boards.

Staal's throwing his helmet in the runway tells me that he might have got dinged again. Maybe this is McIlrath's time. I can't imagine that AV is very happy with John Moore right now.

Anyway I'm trying to be objective--the Rangers effort after the Janssen goal was not good enough. That the goal even counted has me pretty steamed still. There's only one conclusion I can draw from Miller's goal being called back in Philly and Galchenyuk's not being called back against Montreal and Janssen's goal was the slimiest of them all--that conclusion is the ****ing NHL has its favorites and the Rangers are not one of them. If any of them should have counted it should have been Miller's--after Steve Mason shot the puck into Miller's skates.

People keep bring up before the lockout as if it was really any worse. There's two paths to be on in the NHL: at the top, or at the bottom on your way up. I'd rather be on a sinking ship than a ship that isn't moving. The Rangers are nothing more than a ok hockey team that really has no legitimate chance at winning the Cup. Been that way for awhile. I'd rather be the Sabres or the Panters, losing every night but in the meantime stocking up on fantastic farm systems.

The only team in a worse situation is the Oilers who have somehow managed to do the impossible and stagnate at the bottom.

before the lockout was significantly worse...losing every night with barely a single homegrown guy in the lineup, not one decent prospect, a coach who answered questions with "I dunno"

I don't think the team itself was bad on the last goal. It was just a shot from the point. There wasn't even a screen. Callahan played bad since he caused the PP, though, if that's what you're referring to.

I think you've been overdoing the Lundqvist criticism, but go to town tonight.

Even the Ryder goal, where Moore got undressed, went right through Lundqvist.

Clearly kicked in goal counts...
Miller hauled down in the 3rd on a scoring chance...

And AV is just chewing his damn gum. I get not berating the refs every game but he has not had even a conversation all year. It's ridiculous.

Whoever thought about paying the devils and islanders to be part of the MSG network should be bent over and have their ***** kicked by every ranger fan in the tri-state area.

The team needs a core player to be moved for a shake up.

Whether it's Girardi, Staal, or Callahan, one significant piece of the franchise has to be moved because it isn't working.

The Sabres are on MSG, too.

It is my belief that it doesn't matter what the hell channel they are on; they are different organizations.

But we were on our way to a much needed rebuild when Jagr had a Gretzky season and dragged us to the playoffs. That was the end of the rebuild and the beginning of mediocrity.

Pardon me for intruding but I have to say this :

It was a definite kick by Cam Janssen.

I'm not that much of a homer to say that the Rangers did get hosed there. To me, it was so blatantly obvious.

But I guess the ref there was taking lessons from the one who botched the Trapezoid-penalty call on Schneider the previous night. :help:

The refs have been god-awful with calls lately and tonight was no exception. Where's the accountability? Bah.

Regardless, I can't wait for the Winter Classic. That's going to be a lot of fun.

You hit the nail on the head with the first sentence.

Mentally weak.

you don't trade for the sake of trading. We clearly need a scorer back. One being available is why you make a trade.

I'm not saying I agree with all of that stuff, however, the reality is this team is just not built to succeed as we currently stand. With that said, if it means giving up a couple of "untouchables" to build something that could be really special? I wouldn't lose any sleep. We traded Thomas Sandstrom and Tony Granato for Bernie Nichols back in the day. Thomas Sandstrom was one of my favorites. That trade lead us to Messier. A little heartache for a cup is a trade I'm willing to make.

don't know what prompted this response, i will say this, yes good players have bad stretches, but didn't lundy play well vs a bad team, and the very next game he plays poorly vs a decent team, and lets not forget the 15 goals he gave up in back to back games in california... thats not a good player havin a bad stretch.... thats an inconsistent player imo

Team seems to have no mental toughness and just crumbles under any kind of adversity. As a 19 man unit they just went to water after a 50/50 call.

I get that the Torts teams played some boring hockey and it was getting tiring, but you could count on those teams pretty much always gutting out the game, even if things weren't going their way

My issue with Callahan was that it was a lazy play. He was broken in two by Andy Greene and tried to cover for it by swinging his stick like Boog Powell.

Contract Boy really needs to stop the last 2 Devils goals. That is, if he really is the best in the league.

Rangers played well for about half of the 2nd period. The rest of time they were mostly getting outworked all night by the devils along the wall. Not enough snarl and intensity. The Rangers were trying to be opportunistic when they should have had a chip on their shoulder.

Still it may have worked if it wasn't for such a horrific performance by the 4th line. That was the most useless display I have ever seen.

If this team is going to continue the mediocrity treadmill, making this a transitional year, so be it. But, then management has to recognize the need to reconstruct the roster to fit the way this coach wants to play. And, that means moving long-time favorites. It's called proper asset management.
