I wanted to go to the draft, and was disappointed that I had to go to FL last minute and miss it. But given both picks were traded I'm not so disappointed anymore, lol.

Everyone raves about Hedberg. After the buyout I wonder if Lou will give him a job.

I was bothered by this for a while until I realized that I liked the Devils anyways. Treat 'em well, boys. Thank you for Horvat.

You guys got yourself a future U.S Olympic goalie. Style echo's that of J.Quick. Very rarely lets in a softie...treat him with care. He's a gem.

IMO:

Value-wise, this is an absolute steal. Did not think Schneider would only return a top 10 pick.

The thing is, we needed offense and offense badly. Would our pick at 9 have helped us next year offensively? Probably not.. so we'd be in the same boat looking for UFAs.

This does solve a big issue going forward though. Assuming we keep him long-term because if he's two years and done.. it will be severely disappointing.

I really like the deal. It seems like the draft after a certain number is a crapshoot

I think he will help significantly to fill the void and should finish out his career here. I think this is the first of a series of restructuring moves. It is going to dictate what the roster looks like after the summer.

Wow, absolute steal for the Devils. You guys got a top 10 goalie IMO.

I'm shocked there was as much hemming and hawing as there was about the trade in the draft thread. Especially given the #9 was the ONLY asset we gave up. Then again I shouldn't be surprised, it's HF where a moody question mark is worth more than an established goalie who should have a Rask-like breakout when he becomes the full-time starter.

That's not really fair. This fanbase has been heart-set on having a genuine blue-chip forward prospect. We're coming around now as the trade sinks in.
