Those not thrilled with this would have been complaining in a few years about Lou not doing anything about the goalie situation

Can't have everything

We filled a huge need, solid and consistent goalies are tough to come by we can find forwards far more easy

Rob Nieds work ethic

This move by Lou could help prove to our own UFA's and other UFA's that we are trying to win NOW.

Dont overlook that aspect in this

It really makes fans around the league look down on this franchise for the people who call this a bad trade. It's that bad to disagree with a trade that was that much of a steal from New Jersey.

Does anyone who disagrees with the trade understand anything about the importance of a goalie upon the franchise? Especially NJ of all franchises. The trade was the greatest news I got all day and I applauded it in the arena for a while but the worst part about the trade was anyone being infuriated to it.

People that were infuriated by this trade not only shocked me but also portrayed the example of being angry due to ignorance.

no doubt schneider will be successful with the devils. he's got everything going for him - he moves really well, challenges shooters and is fantastic at battling in the crease. the one knock I have against his game is that he tends to get sniped short-side, perhaps from wanting to cheat on the pass. with that said, there isn't a better choice if you're looking for a future superstar goalie - it's Cory. his lack of a full workload hampered his value but still, great value for NJ.

My thought process during the 15 seconds it took to announce the trade:

"We have a trade to announce..." Did we trade down with Nichushkin on the board?
"New Jersey trades #9 to Vancouver..." Sedin? No. Edler??
"For Cory Schneider" Disbelief.

What happens to Hedberg? Will Schneider really backup Marty?

awful, the one knock on his game. Great mentor to have there though.

Yikes yea we'll have to get used to having a goalie that isn't strong with the puck

It's going to be so cool to come to the Rock and hear everyone chanting my (last) name

lol nice

I really hope they don't pull a 2013 version of our defense with carrying one too many

He'll either get bought out or traded and we know Lou will do him well to make it the best possible scenario for him - maybe even try send him local since his family moved to Jersey last off season

Or there is also the possibility he "retires" and Lou gives him work with the organization
