If he plays a full season he's at worst a 40-50 point player. Anderson COULD be that but Johnsson IS that. This deal is basically one that you can't really say anything bad about aside from his tendency to get hurt.
I’m not exactly confident in his talents away from offense superstars and Fitz traded for him without really seeing him play post-knee surgery.
Obviously we need scoring help, ES and PP, right now so while I would say I am unenthusiastic about this trade, I very much see the reasons for it.
It’s a small, low risk deal, since neither the loss of Anderson or Johnsson’s contract, even if his knee has all sorts of issues, are that much to complain about. AJ’s knee is presumably the reason he was kind of in the bargain bin because his deal, like all Leafs deals, was front loaded to make it easier to trade.
