then why does the Outback guy say shrimp, huh??? :sarcasm:

Cos you have to play it up for the masses.

OT - myself and 2 other Aussies were in the Outback Steakhouse in Sierra Vista (not by choice, the Americans we were with made us go...) and once people found out where we were from we basically had to go around to each table a say "throw another shrimp on the barbie" while doing the worst 'Australian' accents we could come up with

I'm not gonna say this is over. Aside from Mikkola and Vesey (and the guys who've won it all) they all came back from 3-2 down twice last year. I thought the same thing about the 2-0 lead, but maybe this time they'll follow through.

If they don't, I want them to find an identity over the summer. Be fast, be skilled, or be tough, and bring in coaches to get the players on that path.

I hope they paid you lol

WWE/F is the crummy promotion LMAO
Honestly you can say the Rangers are WWE/F. Taking good talent and ruining them with stupid gimmicks. Red Rooster Terry Taylor. Isaac Yankem Glenn Jacobs Kane. Polka dot Dusty Rhodes. Irwin R Shyster IRS Mike Rotunda. Steve Austin before he was Stone Cold was the Ringmaster. The Sheepherders were nasty then became the Bushwackers. Texas Tornado Kerry Von Erich lol

McMahon is an idiot like Gallant

This is the most talented Rangers team on paper since 1991 and they're going to piss it away. All self inflicted.

You can argue that roster construction is poor, but that's what you get when you brick on all but three of your first round picks since "The Letter" went out.

I don’t know about that. We’ve had plenty of “talented” rosters that didn’t even make the playoffs.

Wouldn't have mattered because Vince was paying and Verne wouldn't have matched it.

EDIT: Actually, the big blow-up between Hogan and Verne was that Verne wanted a cut of what Hogan was making doing shows in Japan.
Verne wanted Iron Shiek to legit hurt Hogan when Hogan landed at WWF.

McMahon also hit things out of the park:

Austin
Hulkamania (No f***ing way Verne would have figured out the Rock n' Roll connection). When Michaels and Jannetty started in AWA and told Verne their tag team name, Verne literally had to ask if they meant rockers as in people into rock n' roll or rockers as in rocking chairs.

And Shiek didn't because $$$.

Well. My optimism going into this game was totally misplaced.
I’ll say this for Machinehead’s benefit: youre right, the Devils are the better team. I thought the NYR COULD be the better team, thought they had an extra gear, and the first two games had me feeling good, but their play isn’t there. They don’t do the things that are necessary to win. They evaporated completely the last two games. The top 6 has been abysmal. The bottom six has not risen to the occasion. I’m surprised the Kid has scored so little, but I’m not surprised they aren’t leading. They’ve been given zero leadership responsibilities all year, they have not been groomed to lead, they’ve been groomed to be complimentary. But there is not much to be complimentary to as it turns out. I completely expect our season to end on Saturday.

Talent is half the battle, maybe

They don't have any identity, other than the PP, and when that fails, what do they have?

They wasted time with several lack luster vets this year, but they decided to.

The Rangers just don't get it, they have no concept of how to build a team that has something, anything that resembles a team game. They don't have a team concept.

All year long what have they done to make the team better beyond letting the most highly paid players do whatever they wanted?

I am not saying I have the answers, more so, they don't either.

McMahon definitely gets credit for his national vision and Hulkamania. But he basically had to be dragged out of the kiddies-catering cartoon superhero/supervillain mindset in order for the promotion to become what it is was eventually and today.

We haven't had a true identity since Black and Blueshirts and that team got slowly picked away to add "talent" because we were always one goal scorer away. We kept saying that every year trying the same old repeated formula until the letter.

The third goal just completely summed up panarin for me at this point with the turnover, the sort of effort to kind of look like he was trying to maybe back check, The reach from 20 feet away to try to block the passing lane prior to the goal being scored, and then the complete indifference. I am so sick of this guy, BUT I am beyond concerned that we have the nyr country club 2.0 starting it's remodel. Things all year around this org have seemed off and complacent. people joke about the trouba helmet toss but Igor basically skated down the bench in the 2nd during a TV timeout yelling at his guys. It's comical how complacent most of them are becoming. It's a cancer...

This extends to the poor integration of the kids. They did try and the kids didn't look ready but they were too impatient by the lack of immediate results that they just decided to go with a two tales assemblage of a roster. There always seems a tangible dividing line separating the core from the rest of the group, things like accountability, ice time.

I got nothing. And Messier isn't skating onto the ice so forget that 1994 nonsense. I hope one of these knuckleheads doesn't pull a guarantee out of their ass.
i mean this with no disrespect but i have to get some answers here.

weren't you one of the biggest proponents of this iteration of the team ?

So many issues to complain about with this team right now, but I am just blown away by what has become of KAM the last couple months. Looks like a shell of what he’s shown himself to be for a couple years on a mostly upward trajectory. Stumbling, bumbling, out of position, 0 confidence. Really puzzling.

Not early on.

Even then, the other competition (WCW) were heavily mimicking WWF at that point.

You also had sprinkles of dark shit before the Attitude Era.

Piper's Pit
The Snake Pit

Hell, a lot of Jake's promos would be considered edgy today.

Or how about a cobra at a wedding? Cobra gnawing on an arm?
