I dont either really, but im sorry. These kids dont play like stars. If they did they would force their way up the lineup. One of them would be up top and they wouldnt have needed to trade for Kane and or Tarasenko
Not true. Rangers do not operate like that. They don't have a coach that operates like that. All you have to see is him right now coaching in these playoffs. He's never been about adjustments. He lives and dies and overplays his star players. He tells the media today his Kid Line was his best line and loves the way they are playing, YET THEY WERE THE THIRD LINE MOST PLAYED. The coach sucks. Don't make any adjustments, GG, why should you? All the hate Ruff gets from this board and the geniuses on Twitter LMFAO.

Yeah that's the thing, theyve had opportunities to play at the top of the lineup and never run with it. Kakko has been on lines that have had great results to be fair but he's never scored enough and Lafreniere is always underwhelming.

The Rangers have made it easy on Smid the past 2 games. No traffic in front, no making him move around the crease.

We have seen Igor get crashed a few times now, maybe we can try that? Get in his head a little bit

Im actually over Panarin, thanks for all the regular season memories. He has been awful the past 2 playoffs and never has to face the media. Makes too much money to be this inept playoff time

How many shots are we gonna miss wide?

The team oozes talent, but they lack the fortitude to muck it up a bit and take it up a few notches.

Ive said Rangers in 6 from the beginning, but the past 2 games they've looked so disengaged...

Stutzle is coming off a 90 pt season and has shown improvement every single year. Laf will never be a superstar. He's the same player as year 1. Forget superstar. I'd be happy with a 60 pt player
Yes he is coming off a 90 point season where he's getting first line minutes on a team where he's never been blocked by vets, playing with Giroux and Tkachuck, with power play time to the tune of 28 points and was still a -3... I'm not putting down his offense, but... He's not a superstar (yet), he doesn't carry his team, HUGHES is and DOES. Putting Stutzle in that class is inaccurate.
And saying Laf is the same as year one is really detached from reality. I'm fine with differing opinions on what the player is, or will be, no matter how pessimistic, but come on, you've got plenty to criticize without that kind of hyperbole. Hahaha.

Laf and Kakko both have been given chances in the top six. At some point its up to them to play well enough to stick there. Or they can feast on third line matchups and make the coach move them up

The difference being they weren't given the type of chances, and allowed to go through growing pains and make the mistakes, there like top picks usually do. Have you ever compared Hughes' D+1 and Laf's D+1? ... Hughes was much worse but the team stuck with him on the top line and PP. And I'm not saying we should have done that, obviously we have star players that deserved that time, but it doesn't change the fact that it has hindered our kids' development arcs as compared to other high picks. And no, I'm not saying they would be anywhere near where Hughes is, but likely well above where they currently are.

Hughes is one of the best skaters and players in the NHL. He has tremendous hands, is a tremendous stickhandler, and has elite vision and playmaking skills. KK and Laf aren’t in his class and aren’t even close. If the ping pong balls had gone Rangers 1, Devils 2 instead of the other way around, the Rangers would be the favorites to win the Stanley Cup this year.

Don't forget about that ridiculous watch party video Devils fans love to save in a folder called "tax stuff."

Even if the picks had been reversed, there's no guarantee we wouldn't have f***ed it up anyway.

Nah, Hughes would be skating hard not to score, but to forecheck, yet doing nothing because of his size. Because that's the way this organization develops talent.

Kakko did have elite hands, good playmaking ability and a good shot before he was drafted. Not just compared to his Liiga peers, but on the international stage as well. Yet we only see glimpses of that.

He is impressing me further in this series, not shying from much, still "cheating" for breakaways but not to the extent it hurts the team, and he is absolutely carrying his team.
I wonder if Devils fans are shitting on Mercer and looking to trade him for a late 1st now that he has gone 0-0-0 with a -3 in these first four games? Probably not, because that would be ridiculous.

There are no grinders on this team except the 4 th line. Nobody does the dirty work. You think Kane panerin or terisenko is going in hard on the forcheck and grinding it out in the corner. Never! Get away with it in the season but not in playoffs. They need to take one guy from the 4 th line and put them on each other the other 3 lines. Then at least you have motte goodrow or vesey doing the dirty work for those skilled players who don’t do any of it.

That is my issue with this team as constructed. They do not have enough guys that are sandpaper types. There were players available at the deadline yet they opted for two skill players.

Im giving this team the benefit of the doubt since they made the conference finals last year, but they need to change their game into a grimier north south game if their A game isnt working.

Finish every check, dump and chase if you have to. CRASH THE NET.

A big mistake was assuming Mika would just magic himself into a PPG. Or Panarin would give a rusty f***.

The real truth? This team sucks when Mika Zibanejad is not playing like a top line center. And he has been lousy. Can get away with it for a game or two when the kids get hot or Panarin is hot but 4 5 games of it? No way. We’d be 500 at best which we are technically. If he doesn’t step up here we’re done.

The enigma that is Chris Kreider. I view it as the optics of his playstyle. He has scattered intervals of wowing us by flattening someone along the wall or making some crazy pass for a goal, but mostly he veers toward a finesse style. He can score off the rush. He can tip in goals. He's not going to come off the wall on his backhand with someone draped over him and roof one. He's not going to stickhandle through a couple of guys going inside outside.
The ironic thing is that in his early days, he actually played like how people wish he would play. And then he was given a bunch of boarding majors for being too strong and that was that. He learned quickly that availability is the best ability.

Panarin only has the best points per game as a Ranger of anyone in franchise history & led our team in scoring every season since he signed here, he’s been a terrible signing!
Who gives a f*** about the regular season? When is he going to show up for the playoffs? Quit shilling for every Russian player when they're not good.
