Laugh all you want bro but the Habs did Mete dirty by not listening to HF and not making him a winger... he would have been a star!!

Still get a chuckle out of those takes at his first development camp.
Maybe not a star but it shocking how narrow-minded how NHL management does not embrace a "total football" sort of approach...

From Wikipedia

Total Football (Dutch: totaalvoetbal) is a tactical system in association football in which any outfield player can take over the role of any other player in a team. Although Dutch club Ajax and the Netherlands national football team are generally credited with creating this system during the 1970s, there were other sides who had played a similar style before, such as the Austrian Wunderteam of the 1930s, the Argentine side "La Maquina" of River Plate in the 1940s, the Golden Team of Hungary in the 1950s,

Being more open minded about converting players to thrive in different positions from their "original" or "natural" ones is just part of their natural evolution and development curve in their personal and professional development. NHL teams would find alot more advantage taking a more broader open minded approach than the current narrow-minded, conservative, natural old school dinosaur way of doing things.

Evolve or die. Markov was a centre once. Dandenault, Streit, Federov...played in different positions at the NHL level, I am sure there plenty more examples....to back me up...

Call me crazy but Slafkovsky have all tools to put 40g, 40a per season with Habs.

He looks like having the tools like Andrei Kostitsyn... can do everything on ice, the difference it's he is going reach his potential.

AK46 have all tools to become a 40g 40a type of player but he never did... More I watch Slaf... More I watch that type of player with Habs.

Oh he has some tools alright.

We'll just have to be patient if he can't put them all together right away. Last thing we need to do is rush him. Oiler fans told me even the great Leon Draisaitl was no where near ready at 18.

Yeah agree. I just see that the latest young player forward Habs have with the same tools like him, it's Andrei Kostitsyn and the talent of AK46 is a 40g, 40a type of player IMO. (Just he don't reach his full potential).

And not only tools, but also toolbox, and in terms of engagement he seems way ahead of AK46

I wonder why the camera is as though they snuck it in

He actually did a real good job handling all that. We'll never know how sincere he actually is but I don't think you can handle it much better than that.

This is what I said from the get go. He and the organization just had to make it right. Being ambassadors for positive change is a very good direction.

That's an interesting thing about Drai. Some don't quite look the part right away. There's a ton to like about him but man does it seem like an awful year to have a 1OA. You'd just want someone who's more of a sure thing. I'm very sceptical but like you said he has a TON to work with but there's a lot of work to be done it seems. I wish his floor was 2nd liner and I'd feel better about it.

Who's the woman that asked Mailloux the question

"How would you explain consent to a teammate"

We need that journalist to always be there. The first intelligent question asked by a journalist covering the Habs in.... maybe the 1st one I've ever heard
A huge portion of the time the constant revisiting of these types of situations is far worse for the victim than the actual situation.

In no way am I condoning what he did. He did multiple stupid, immature, irresponsible, hurtful things in a row to end up where he did.

But I'm also not naive and know that most humans on this earth are selfish and disgusting.

That's what made the question even better. He's being specifically asked this question because of what he did, but she isn't brought into the situation.

That said, I'm hoping this media availability let our shit media, minus that woman get their questions about that subject in and from now on they shut the f*** up about it.

Yeah, I'm hoping it's done for now. I hope he continues to spread a positive message behind closed doors and continues to make better choices. But let it die for now.

We already know if he ever actually makes the team, he's going to have to answer all these questions again. So let's hope it's dropped for a few years now.

I realy hope Slaf will be good for us, and that he will become a 50-70pts player.

But for me, Wright was always my pick, best IQ and shot of the draft, two skill that a value the most...

The passes that Wright makes are elite, he think the game 2 plays ahead. If he was at the camp i am sure he will not dangle any players, but instead use is teammate with crazy passes...

I hope that MTL pick the good player at #1, we will know in 3-4 years from now ...

My choice for the draft was Wright, Cooley, and Slaf in that order. For me Wright will be a 70-85pts player.

Cool, but this is the wrong thread for all that.

I don't even like him that much now. I'm prudently optimistic. Still doesn't change the fact Wright displayed f*** all this year, other than his shot.

I don't want scouting report. I want a SINGLE play that is "outstanding". Just one.

Rude.

Shane Wright looking like a prime Crosby at Dev Camp.

Slafkovsky looking like a clunky Pierre Engvall at Dev Camp.

#R.I.P

kidding btw
