There's so much talent on the ice, looks explosive in his drills, knows how to slow the defender down, knows where the puck is going to be, and has hands for days. We don't have a player like that at this camp, or any camp, I can remember. He looks like he has superstar potential. You just see it. Clear as day.
Where did you see this?

This is nonsense.

Thanks for your contribution. Can you make the effort of going through his highlight video and pick an exact play that you find outstanding? It's 24 minutes long of highlights. You ought to find something.

I made the effort yesterday, after Mrb1p said Wright had A+ hands. Still waiting to see a single play of elite hands, and I've watched the f***ing video.

Slaf doesn't want to keep #60 as his regular number.

#20 is Wideman's...

I hope they won't give him #15 !!!

I'm not going to do shit for you because there are literally 100s of videos and scouting reports out there that were posted here over and over that almost all came to the same conclusion - Shane Wright was the best player in the draft.

I understand you want to think your favorite team made the best choice but understand that we went against the grain here with Slaf. It's a risk and we don't know how it will pan out. I am extremely confident that Shane Wright will be a star center in this league. I am a lot less confident that Slaf will be anything more than an exploitation 2nd liner who puts up 50ish points per year.

Dude, still waiting for a video Wright showcasing great hands. The vid you posted isn't that.

Or are you just there to argue?
But you also exaggerate Wright's supposed bad performances. The guy put up the points he was suppose to put as a No1. The most problematic issues with him was indeed his lack of compete and aggressiveness in a game. Under the pretext that he was scanning the ice. For me, he was too much a passenger. BUT he STILL had enough qualities to be a No1. It's an imperfect year. With imperfect No1. I had Cooley 1st. But we would have went Wright and I would have been extremely happy too. And you take him under the team's wings...and you improve the aggressiveness and engagement.

Yet, all what he seemed to lack this year, I've seen Dubois lacking. I've seen tons of players being bored lacking. To gain it right back when challenged.

So basically, you're full of shit. Got it.

I think you're full of shit too. The video is 24 minutes long. I give you the week to provide a single play from 2022 of Wright displaying elite hands. Or do you want 2 weeks? I won't forget.
Bro you have been insufferable since Slaf was drafted. You didn't even like the guy that much before it happened. Don't get clouded by fanboyism. If you want some videos of scouting reports for both Slaf and Wright I'll send them to you when I'm done work.

I don't even like him that much now. I'm prudently optimistic. Still doesn't change the fact Wright displayed f*** all this year, other than his shot.

I don't want scouting report. I want a SINGLE play that is "outstanding". Just one.

I don't even read posts about Wright anymore unless they contain a video and an exact timeline where I can find an outstanding play in the video, especially about his "A+ hands" (in Mrb1p's words).

I made the effort yesterday to watch the intolerably boring video, I require the same in return or else it's just talk.

The funny or not so funny part is this.....people were so tired of watchin Wright in the last 3 years that the only thing left to watch was his weaknesses. Well guess what....SUDDENLY, his weaknesses won't be so apparent anymore soon while Slaf's weaknesses will start to shine more. Roles will be reversed.

When all is said and done, in games situations, it's CLEAR that Wright will be the best 2-way player out of the 2. While Slaf might bring more goals, puck protection and size presence. I don't think there will be a huge gap in points. But it's not too far fetched to think that Wright will have more.

So basically you're saying we picked the 2nd best player in this draft. Well, that's a huge improvement from Timmins's years.

I'll say one thing about TT and MB, their overall grades on the draft were not good. But since 2017 or 2018, I'd say they've been drafting well. To the point the cupboards have been filled and we have interesting prospects to look forward to.

They're the duo that brought the Habs prospects like Caufield, Suzuki (via trade), Harris, Guhle, Fairbrother, Roy, Kidney, Dobes, Dichow, Norlindrer Struble, Xhekaj, RHP, Ylonen, and Mysak to name a few.

And then this management goes and brings in Barron, Heineman, Slaf, Mesar, Hutson, Beck, Engstrom, and we know more will be coming.
You can also add Dach in there too 😁

I think Wright will bring more points and two way play plus he’s a centre. But Slaf should be a great player as well. Maybe even a rarer player. But don’t see him producing or having the two way game of Shane.

On one hand people projected Wright as a solid two-way forward, which I obviously agree with. This notion that even if he’s not scoring, he’s helping the team.

However, people seem to think Slafkovsky can only surpass Wright if he gets more points. But can his size, corner work, net front presence help his eventual linemates Cole and Suzuki get on the scoresheet without himself getting on there?

Gretzky had a 10 foot Untouchable zone enforced by Giants like Smenko etc The odd time he got hit he cried like a frikkin baby
Funny, people in Toronto say that, and that Gretzky was purely a ref creation, like everyone got together and conspired to make this guy the highest scoring player ever. The giants played with a lot of other guys, and Gretzky got hit quite a bit. The other guys didn't score like Gretzky, and Gretzky kept playing after hits.

The weird Toronto myths are obvious to non-Torontonians, sort of like the constant "what I'll do during the stanley cup parade" talks. I wonder what Montrealers say that make them smack their heads.
