Development Camp 2022 (July 10th-13th)

He's looked phenomenal in this. I think Beck has looked really good too.

Nurmi is a nice skater.

And that invitee, Crisholm skates real well for being 19 feet tall

I love when he was laying to to Mesar along the boards. Mesar just kept bouncing, he must of took 5 hits, but it didn't slow him down.

From the 2022 picks, after looking into them and feeling better about them, Nurmi still left me scratching my head. I liked what I saw in these drills. He is another one of the Habs prospects who is a smooth skater. And he was making quick decisions. He wasn't trying to turn one way then turn the other looking for something. He was pretty much passing the puck right away to a teammate.

I'm not gonna pretend Mailloux is a victim here because a lot of people are still uneasy about him. But I do agree at this point there's nothing left to say.

What's done is done. The way he was drafted was embarrassing to the franchise but the people responsible for it are gone, the organization has done backflips to recover from the PR disaster - and whether cynically motivated or not the player and the organization are continuing to show they learned from this.

Now the main question should be how missing so much time has impacted his development and what he is capable of this year.
Speak for yourself. It was one of the few good things Bergevin did. Kid has massive talent and it's worth the gamble. While he did something stupid, he was a fantastic selection from a hockey standpoint.

I'm sick of Montreal having to take a "higher ground" for class when 90% of other franchises were going to take him in the 2nd or 3rd round regardless.

Did he do anything? Like... He cant even gain the inside on Oliver Kapanen.

He did. You just decided to close your eyes in the good moments. I know you are mad. But frankly, whether he'd be great or bad, It's in no relation to the rest of his career. Wright wouldn't have the pace to gain whatever too in these exercices. Wouldn't make him a bad player too. Nazar, Cooley, Kemell, Kulick would look like gods....doesn't mean they should be 1-2-3-4.

He wasn't my pick either. But now he is. And we f***ing have to hope he amounts to something.

Thank you for this.

Farrell and Hutson have wicked skill.

I'm a believer in Farrell and the sample size is starting to pile up. A little early with Hutson but yeah, the kid can skate and has skill.

This might be the most talented group of prospects in development camp for decades? Standing out like Poehling a few years ago is not the same as standing out in this camp.

Thats ridiculous. He just didn't "Show more than Kotkaniemi and Galchenyuk ever did". I don't care about Wright, he was my pick but I see the character issues and understand the Slaf pick. Im rooting for him, we just don't have to lie to ourselves. Kev is a super fan and does that a lot, he needs to be brought back to reality a bit.

Slaf was very good with puck protection, but in defence he was lost, and he was trying to much on the ice... his passes was not accurate...

I hope this year is the last and final year that Mailloux is asked to discuss what he did in Europe and how he's progressing to be a better person.

What happened around his case was healthy, but we're getting close to the expiration date here, where making him rehashing about this will become creepier than what he actually did.

If they keep going about this in 2024 this has the smell of Soviet psychiatry.

For one, let's not automatically assume this is a media appearance to discuss what he did in Europe. They already had that after he was drafted.

But I think it will be fair to ask him what he's been doing the last year.

And I'm also betting he will be asked more hockey questions this time around.
