Interesting that the posts have dried up since they won again.
I very much believe in the Wings ability to make a strong push for a worse draft pick while once again missing the playoffs.

Sure that might happen. If they miss the playoffs by 1-2 points while the young players take a big step forward again (Raymond above PPG, Seider improving, Edvinsson with a full season as a top pairing D, Berggren returning to form, etc.) then that's still a net positive for the rebuild.I very much believe in the Wings ability to make a strong push for a worse draft pick while once again missing the playoffs.
Not much to say. They're just screwing themselves out of finally getting an elite forward talent in an already lost season.Interesting that the posts have dried up since they won again.
Right, the classic no-win situation. If they play like shit all season, the rebuild is failing and everyone is right about Yzerman's picks and players being terrible. If they turn it around, improve significantly, and make a playoff push, they are screwing themselves over. Might as well relocate the team. Not much to say. Have no agenda at all, just observing the cult of SY worship. I even said before that at this point the failed season is a blessing in disguise."Yzerman sux cuz he didn't make the playoffs in 6 years st8t!!!!!!111"
"Yzerman sux cuz he tryin' to make a playoff push while only 4 points back!!!!!111"
Your agenda is loud and clear, hoss.
Isn't that what the pens did? Threaten to leave and then miraculously draft a complete HOF first line in subsequent years. It's too bad Detroit couldn't do thatMight as well relocate the team.
If the goal is to finally make the playoffs after 10 years then great, hope you all are happy. If it's to build an elite team that can win a cup, it's a missed opportunity.Right, the classic no-win situation. Thread has nothing to do with Pittsburgh, speaks volumes as to how defensive you all are. But Pittsburgh was the most successful franchise of the era, they're doing fine. That's only a solution for low end franchises like Pittsburgh lol, we got an original six team going with an almost 100 year history and we rode out the Dead Wings era which was longer and worse than this lol

Good for you? I post about all teams. Back on topic then, the downfall.brother what says it all is that unlike you posting a bunch in a topic about the Wings I don't even care enough to analyze whatever is going on in Pittsburgh lol
The moment you start moving goalposts in this way you lose all credibility. Not much to say. They're just screwing themselves out of finally getting an elite forward talent in an already lost season.
Except pre Lalonde firing i literally said this unintentional tank was probably for the best. The same major issue with the rebuild still remains even if they go on a little run here - no elite forward talent to build around. Guys like Kane getting hot after a coaching change doesn't change anything about the future construction of the team. The moment you start moving goalposts in this way you lose all credibility.
Yeah you also harped on their current position in the standings as a major negative. Arguing both sides, aka moving goalposts.Except pre Lalonde firing i literally said this unintentional tank was probably for the best. Because both can be true. Their position in the standings is because Yzerman has done a poor job. But since they're bad anyway, the best thing that could have happened was to finally land a Misa/Hagens type. A coaching change led short term run does nothing for their future. Are we supposed to clap since he got some of the overpaid bums going for a few games?Yeah you also harped on their current position in the standings as a major negative. The hive mind is too busy with Drury and Trotz, they've moved on :-(Interesting that the posts have dried up since they won again.
If you believe you are smart/correct, and you believe the best thing for the team is to be bad and draft high, why are you also assuming Steve Yzerman doesn’t realize another high pick could be a good thing and the roster not being great is only by accident?Because both can be true. Ya because you reset the timelines like I already pointed out.
Which other teams in the league say there rebuild timelines start over, when hiring a new GM. I can’t think of any teams.
Not that teams don't f*** it up, but hitting at the very top of the draft is like the bare minimum of what should be expected.
31 picks across those three drafts, 11 of which were in the first 2 rounds, and while there’s still promising prospects to come so far they’ve got three NHLers out of it.
