I actually don't know what buffalo needs .. it is a nice roster. Lots of nice pieces at all positions.

Detroit has a lot of filler but I think they need to keep tanking this season.

I don't think they are good trade partners today.

Buffalo
I love the fact when people hear about scouts at a game they naturally assume that the scout must be there only for trade reasons--not actually scouting how teams play or if they are trying a new system or heaven bid--scouting because one of the teams playing that night may actually play against their team at some point in time

Buffalo's next game is with Detroit and Philly in three months, and AGM Sabres Karmanos was also at the game.

Buffalos roster is always just a year or two too early….. the eichel-Reinhart, mittelstadt ullmark and Montour era just needed more time to mature(I know they had to move on, but in hindsight they just needed time)……Now the same thing is happening with this core…..Buffalo wants to win and that’s great, but when u go full rebuild from the strips down. You have to be even more patient after the tank years to build the core up….. peterka, benson, Power, Quinn, cozens are still so young….and as unreal as Dahlin is, he’s still super young, same with Byram. Samuelsson, Johnson and Levi still soo young. Add in the other kids like Kulich, Ostlund, Komarov etc… they have long term help on the way.

Like, I know it’s the last thing Sabres fans want to hear, but if u wanna actually win someday, you need to be patient and allow the young core to grow. Tage and Tuch are the only veteran fwds of high quality. But if u sell them, you’re just gonna rinse and repeat the last rebuild.

Don’t panic trade unless it’s a quality for quality deal not a quantity for quality.

Trade the zuckers and Jokiharhjus if u want. But allow your core players to benefit the Sabres in their primes, not every other team in the league.

As a blues fan, I sincerely thank u for ROR :)

That's the problem, Thompson and Tuch are getting old and we have no one. Our GM decided that the kids should figure it out themselves, without adding vets to the team like other normal teams do. But the kids fell and couldn't figure it out themselves and now here we are again. We need to act here and now (hopefully with a new normal GM), we can't wait until Thompson and Tuch are 30 and wait for the young players to grow up. Hockey trades, the right trades, look for underrated players, especially when the season is over. Reduce the youth movement in the roster.

I mean, what is location, really
To Buffalo: Rasmussen, 2025 1st round pick, Patrick Kane, Amadeus Lombardi
To Detroit: Dylan Cozens, some contract dump

Should Buffalo do this? Absolutely not. Has that been a good predictor that they won't? Not really.

Personally, I'm a big Cozens fan, so a potential top 5 pick AND Lombardi is something I would do. (For Buiffalo fans, Lombardi is a big time sleeper type guy for the Wings with game breaking talent if he can make it.)

We need hockey deals and I don't want to see Kane in a Sabres jersey, no thanks.

Seems like an overpay from Detroit.

Detroit trading their unprotected 2025 1st for Cozens would be Yzerman's worst move in Detroit. Worse than the Copp + Chairot + Walman moves combined.

To be clear, I like Cozens but there is no way Yzerman should be trading his 1st without protection.
