Lateral move means that Tatar, after a year of play, is even with the likes of Rakell/Silf/Cogs and maybe we choose them over Tomas, I doubt that would be the case, but in the unlikely case that happens, Tatar can be moved to recoup assets. This is going to be a problem regardless of who we trade Fowler for, or if Murray decides to keep Fowler.
