He's the agent for both Auston Matthews and Connor McDavid.

Imo, this probably means that like Matthews, Dobson will want a short-term contract, so that he becomes a UFA at an age where he can still earn big money.

Matthews current contract is only 4 years. He's making $13.5m and probably will get $15m after this contract expires.

McDavid did sign an 8 year contract after his ELC, but it was during the cap crunch, so a long-term contract was more favorable.

Dobson might only want a 4 year contract, so he's UFA at 29.

4 x $7m
Then 7/8 x $10m is probably what he's betting on.

No Nancy. More about his overall demeanour. Nonchalant people in my experience are not the type to take accountability for their behavior when faced with criticism. Or they just don’t care, criticism even when positive goes in one ear and right through the other. I don’t know the guy so I might be wrong tho, hence why I used words such a looks and might.
He could also be a robot. That would explain why he doesn't seem to care about his team of humans and I've never seen him go to the bathroom. I'm not 100% sure, so I could be wrong.

So after 100 games and 3 years with the Habs, it’s impossible to judge the body language of someone and form a conclusion that he might be nonchalant? Ok.

Btw my bad for using the Nancy term I used it randomly and didn’t know they was a bad meaning to this name.
You're making too many assumptions about Dach that you can't verify. That was the point.

The nancy thing is just so petulant. re-think it and your arguments will look better.

Probably been talked about but easiest way to improve next year would be to sign rantenan no?

Money ain't an issue for us and cap is also going up. We can afford him. Whether he plays C or W id be interested

Assuming what we see is a down-year for most of Dach, Newhook, Laine, and Slaf, our D needs improving more than our Fs

Honestly, I can understand his attitude. A team already out of the playoff, combined with linemates that are even less motivated.

I can't imagine what it feels like to give yourself 110% to find Laine trying to keep up, or just being totally out of the play most of the time...
His absolutely stunning reaction to one of his (many) recent penalties, a reaction that even took David Savard by surprise, one of pure casualness, did not sit well with me, simple fan. To me, it showed a lack of maturity. Not a fan.

Ok, get it, no speculation about player behavior off the ice from what we see on the ice. Only speculation about trades and contracts.

He says the juicy stuff is behind the patreon. Probably all irrelevant -- just gossip, nothing very impactful anyway.

Gossip aside, fellow Romanov boys, we're feasting right now. But we're too mature to be dishing out crow aren't we? Romanov is genuinely a superior player to Dach.

More fake crap. 25stanley is also complete garbage.

I think we can do two things at once. Rantanen is UFA in July. Signing him costs us zero assets. We can still save all our assets to trade for D.

And I really don't want to bank on those forwards you mentioned either. Down year ya ya ya maybe they just suck LOL. Slaf is the only one I have confidence in long term in the top 6.

We trade Caufield we have 0 wingers in the top 6 scoring goals. I just dont see them trading Slaf
I get it but I'm just saying that's going to be the cost if they trade Dobson.

According to the Norris results of last year, he's a top10 defenceman in the NHL + he's a RD.

Our defence would be set for years with Dobson.

Guhle-Dobson
Hutson-Reinbacher
Xhekaj-Carrier
Engstrom/Mailloux

You can trade Matheson for picks/Prospects.

Again
UFA like him don't usually make it to july 1

Dobson has at least a good season under his belt (I guess great season), but he's very questionable defensively.

You're paying assets and a contract for a dude that will likely point to his 70 point season as to why he's worth so much, but I'd be hesitant.

It's mainly for the assets you need to use to acquire him.

My guess as well.

The cost will be really high for a top pairing RD.
The Sergachev deal is a benchmark for the price. he was traded after a 64 pts in 79 games.

Conor Geekie, J.J. Moser, a 2025 second-round pick, and a 2024 seventh-round pick (no. 199 overall)
