Once Mrazek is resigned, It sounds like Detroit will have a 2nd buy out window. Maybe Holland buys out Howard. He's going to have to do something here.
Wow does this ever make Jake Gardiner and Morgan Rielly look like steals
It's pretty brutal because he's a blackhole possession wise and doesn't really generate anything on the ice either. He's really not a 5M dollar defender. I don't even think he's worth a penny over 4M. He's going to be 27 years old this season... that isn't young. Nothing is suggesting he's trending upwards in anything. If you think it's a good contract... I don't know what to say but good luck.
And now the Red Wings long-term cap is becoming pretty bad as well. Not sure I like any of their recent moves and this just really shows me they are really desperate.
I've always followed the Wings and Dekeyser. They were the rival that I actually respected. Continued to watch them when they went to the West. In today's world the internet allows people to watch games of multiple teams, whenever you want.
obviously he's an eastern conference fan. he must know more than Wings fan.
He better get better
getting a NTC and 6 years...
Pretty sure he's already taking the #1 spot from Kronwall. He's a solid shut down D man but i do agree he needs to work on his offense for the much he should be at least a 35-40 point per season for these next 6 years or so.

DeKeyser is getting overvalued here by wings fans. I've watched quite a few wings games over the last couple years and saying he's one of your best Dman isn't saying a lot, as the wings D sucks (no offense, just lack of talent right now).
Rielly and Trouba are not comparable, both are 5 years younger and have way more potential. In fact both are better than him right now.
Still, sorting by cap hits, DeKeyser comes in at #42 for D in the league. Comes in at just under Goligoski, J-bo, and same as Andy Greene and Edler.
Sounds about right when you look at it that way. I'd say he's on the same level as Goligoski, Edler, J-bo. Greene might be slightly better.
It's the going rate for these guys
Homers are homers. That will never change for any team.
...Are you se...serious?
