Dallas traded a young Iginla to win a cup.

A lethal scorer is just what this team needs.

Trading Byfield to win one more In the Kopi / Doughty window would be worth it.

The Kings have too many guys that are competing for spots and losing value after their drafts.

Vilardi Grans and the first is low ball.

Turcotte two first and Clarke is a no go.

Cat is 24 and just scores. I’d love to get him but you don’t give up Byfield/Clarke/or the 2023 pick (unless protected)

Seems like Chicago wants to trade him to fill multiple holes. Makes you wonder a bit tho.

I’d do a Turcotte/Faber/22 pick base and tweak as needed. Not sure Chicago would.

To me, QB, Clarke and even Kaliyev are off limits. QB is the future 1C, Clarke is basically future #1 D and Kaliyev scoring 14 goals as a 4th line rookie, with a future power game and 30+ perennial goal scorer, would not part with one of them. I'd try to keep Chromiak out of it too. Can't imagine Faber is in play, unless the Kings feel he won't sign. (but would he sign with Chicago?)

The 2022 #1, Vilardi + Grans seems to have been the 1st offer. I would add the 2023 #1 OR 1 of Thomas, JAD, Durzi (he seems like a Hawk type guy) Fagemo, Madden. Would honestly try to keep Turcotte. If he gets healthy, he's still going to be a good NHL player. Not saying he holds up a deal...but then would not give up 2 #1s. Another pick would have to be a second.

DeBrincat Kopitar Kempe
Moore Danault Arvidsson
Iafallo Byfield Kaliyev
Grundstron Lizotte Kupari
Lemieux

Anderson Doughty
Bjornfot Roy
? Spence / Clarke / Walker

PP this past season: Kopi led with 6 goals, 22 pts. Kempe and Kaliyev also had 6 PP goals.,
Debrincat had 14 PP goals and 28 PP pts.
Makes the Kings PP middle of the pack, which alone would have added 7-10 points in the standings.

Seems like he values him by including him in a deal for one of the best u-25 goal-scorers in the league?

Looking at some of the other proposals in this thread I am surprised this one was the one you replied to. This is actually the most realistic trade offer in this thread so far. I think BWC wanted to much and some of the proposals by our fans are cringe worthy.

It's not one isolated post, it's a meme pattern.

Besides it's stupid to trade Byfield for a number of reasons. It signals you're giving up on the rebuild already; you're giving up on a teenager; in case you forgot, we're not a contender, and Debrincat makes us more talented but not a heavyweight; we're getting even older; if you're going to trade Byfield, may as well empty the farm for one last futile go-round before starting over yet again.

Something can be 'good value' and 'not realistic' at the same time, though. That's not a realistic proposal.

I like Debrincat, but it is hard to picture trading the moon for him and then paying him top dollar for him to put up like 24 goals here or something similar :P I know he is better than Kempe, but it is similar to trading a 1st ++ and then paying him $9M+ per season knowing that a 35+ goal average is not that likely here in LA every year. Debrincat doesn't strike me as a Kopitar/Doughty difference-maker; however, it has been a long time since the Kings have had that level of an impact winger. I wonder how Debrincat will do without Kane as well.

Read something that Chicago doesn't want to get saddled with two long term salaries (Jones, DeBrincat) this soon into their rebuild.....

Having said that, I think they have the luxury of Colorado ala Duchene.....wait for the right deal....

Why would Kaliyev be off limits? He's nothing special.

Debrincat is what you hope Kaliyev could be one day, except that AK's chances of actually becoming that good are relatively low. It's like saying you want Mike Richards but you won't trade Schenn.

Because DeBrincat, as good as he is, is NOT the piece that turns LA into a contender......not that Kaliyev is....but the idea is to KEEP the weapons we do have, and ADD on....not replace.

That's why I brought up Chychrun earlier, too. Similar deal, no rush to move, people will be more desperate later on especially towards the deadline.

The idea would that he's an add on not a replacement and kaliyev is one of the only forward prospects that has thus far actually broken into the NHL in a meaningful way. It's not that he's untouchable. It's that the purpose would be to get younger and bridge while supplementing the rebuild wave, not to just go for it now.

You think they would win the cup by adding Debrincat? Are you watching these teams play in the finals?
What did Kopitar do last year that made you think he can carry a team to the cup and win?
They actually made the playoffs without Doughty.
Why are you hanging onto the past when it is clearly over?

Tampa has a lot of other pieces that LA does not yet.

Not watching a lot of Hawks games anyone know how frequently he plays with Kane? Is his production related?
The short answer is, a lot.

your irrational hate for Byfield is approaching your vendetta for Quick.
Adding my 2 cents re Byfield - he is one asset i would want to at least give another year to assess. If someone wants to pay us like he is going to be a top 10 in the league forward then fine (obviously will not happen).. but he has major upside potential. The other factor is its important to have cheap high end talent in the cap era. If we end up using up the cap budget without filling in the major holes, its back to extended mediocrity.

Same can be said about Byfield

A 24-year-old sniper who will be a RFA next summer, with two 40+ goal seasons, plus he scored 32 goals in 52 games in a shortened season. There really is no reason for Chicago to move him unless they’re blown away by an offer built around youth. The Kings have the assets, but is it worth it and is it the right time to pull the trigger on such a trade?
IMO- Yes

He is young , proven and exactly what we need

Send Turcotte, a first, Walker, and my mom to Chicago

Kaliyev looks to be a contributor in the top 9 on an elc. Kings are going to be near the cap really soon. They will need cheap contributors.

Mathews has 1 more year before he needs to sign an extension. Do not blow all the assets on Debrincat before we find out if Mathews wants to meet be back to the Southwest.

Yes, that is exactly what I said, add Debrincat and we will win the cup. Book it.

But now that you mention it, if this team can make the playoffs without Doughty and Walker and we add Debrincat, ohmagerd, we will win the Stanley Cup and the Olympics.

.....and my Bell Bottom Jeans are making a comeback.
