He scored 27 playing with rookie center Pinto in 95% of his games and had at least 8 goals worth of posts/crossbars/disallowed.

Norris was injured all year and Stutzle played with Tkachuk and Giroux.

If DBC starts the season and plays with one of our top 2 Cs he’s a lock for over 30 goals.
8 goals worth of missing the net? WTF is that?

Trocheck had about 15-20. And at one point lead the league last year in post shots. Should we add that to his potential production? You're right. WTF is that...

If Kubalik is coming back, Sens should find a way to get Detroit or a 3rd team to eat half his contract with the one year remaining. That extra 1.25 mil will go a long way. The Sens are up against the cap.

There's a few ways of looking at his season.

Traditionally, you start worrying about goal scorers when their shot volume starts to go down.

ADB just put up his 2nd most shots in his career, 7 short of his career high of 270.

So then you have to decide whether his shooting percentage last season is an outlier or a trend at the age of 25.

It was the second lowest season of his career at 10.3%. His worst season was an 8.7% in 2019-2020. His five-year average is 15.5%.

Tarasenko linked to Ottawa, contingent on dealing Debrincat:

It also mentions Anaheim, the Islanders, and Detroit as teams still in on ADB.

I think SOMETHING gets finalized in the next few days.
I just don't see a way we can fit him unless we move Joseph or Detroit/3rd team retains on whoever they send us.

It's more an anecdotal observation IMO. I don't really trust the post/crossbar stats anyway.

Obviously it's a miss when you hit the post because it's not part of the net.

Pass. Rather just play him here this year and lose him for nothing. They will get way more at the trade deadline.

Sure. If Cat wants Detroit like what is being speculated I'd rather you keep him too. Sign him for free next year.

I think there will be many more suitors next year. Isn't the cap supposed to be going up again?

There's always a demand for goal scorers in the league, just not ones who want a lot of money who are currently on a one-year contract.

I like DeBrincat and would have preferred he stay in Ottawa, but I don't get why Detroit would want him. He's not the kind of player they should be giving up assets for and then handing out a big contract.

Maybe he could fit into what they're building, but I don't see it. He'll still produce and be a good player, they should look elsewhere though.

It's a reasonable explanation as to why DeBrincat didn't hit 35-40 goals last year like he has in the past... not overly difficult to understand but sure

My guess is Bos 1st and Berggren.
As underwhelming as that is, probably correct

Win win for everyone I guess. But then again you risk him going somewhere else when the cap goes up and more desirable option comes up for him because you werent willing to part with a third liner on top of a late first and an extra prospect.

Ottawa already walked away from Bos 1st, det 2nd and Berggren so prepared to be dissapointed if you think the deal is getting done for Kubalik and the Bos 1st.
