I've been talking about ADA not shooting in spots he probably should for the last couple GDTs, in particular on the PP.It doesn’t count as getting the shot through if it hits someone. Yes it was a good play, but his shot still sucks. And I think it is recency bias because you never mentioned it until today.
I don’t think the guy passes up shots any more than the average d-man. I think you’re just grasping for straws. At least there’s evidence to show that he’s good at getting it through. Do you have any evidence that shows he’s not?
You're not understanding my point and you're harping on him getting his shot through at a very high rate. I don't care about the rate. He's walking the puck into areas he *should* shoot, but he's not. So it's not attempt. So it doesn't 'hurt' his rate of shots getting through.
But a tipped, or partially blocked, or deflected shot into the corner can have a positive outcome for a variety of reasons. Shattenkirk shot a contested shot, they got a goal. If ADA were there in that spot I'm not sure he takes that same "chance".
