Lol he's alive and well.

He's just been the head of the "OMGZ THE RANJUZ ARE THE BEST WORST TEAM EVARR" train.

I thought he may have exploded once the Devils went up 2-0.
lol I know exactly what the Rangers are. Not one time this year did I ever proclaim that they would even come close to making the playoffs. I just never thought they were a bottom 3 like you proclaimed. I would be shocked if they even end up bottom 5. 7-10 is more likely

5-7, Which they've bounced back and forth between being and not being for like the last 2 weeks.

Bottom 5 is still within reach btw, with bottom 7 being a strong possibility.

I can see 7 if all things break out well for us and I would sign for that. Vancouver, edmonton (albeit playing little better), Chicago and Anaheim just too unpredictable just like us. So safe bet is somewhere in the middle around 7 spot. we are 9th right now.

Ryan Strome picked #5 and Mika Zibanajad picked #6 so that's pretty close, I assume I can start planning the parade? Furthermore Rick Nash picked at number 1 and Derek Brassard at 6. It guarantees nothing. Better players have been picked later in the drafts, our scouts have to find them. Lots of teams every year lose with 2 or 3 top 5 picks, Edmonton, Buffalo, Colorado, New Jersey etc.

They weren't our picks. Every player i mentioned was a home-grown pick. there is a difference.

Is it possible to find good picks later? sure. But the empirical evidence points to having a top-pick talent on your own team helps *immensely*.

Really doesnt matter who picks them if they were consensus top picks. Thankfully we have a couple so I guess we are all set for the parade. There are no Crosbys, Malkin's,McDavid in this draft. I think it has more to do with having a high pick on a good year more than just a good pick...ie Yakupov vs McDavid.

I do have to chuckle a little when I see conversations about how bad the Rangers are - aka, "We're not bottom five, but we're not playoffs," stuff like that.

Outside of draft position, the difference between the 5th worst and 10th worst team is, for all intents and purposes, negligible. We're essentially talking 4 points. So a lucky bounce, the much-loved loser point, etc.

So it's not like the team that finishes 21st in the league is clearly better than the team that finishes 26th.

But I already know there will be, "I told you were weren't the fifth worst team in the league" comments if we finish "higher." Even though the difference could very well come down to the fact that we played in and lost all of one additional OT game.

Are you ****ing kidding me? I saw the 2-0 score earlier and was so relieved. We ended up winning?

Wake me up at the draft lottery, I’m done with these bull**** “pity points” in must-lose games.

I want to see the “always play to win” / “always root for your team to win” crowd’s reactions when the Devils walk away with Kaapo Kakko and we end up with more middle-6 fillers from this draft.

Games like this are the reason this franchise may not win a Cup in our lifetimes.

Don’t mean to sound dramatic but the frustration is just overwhelming at this point. If we’re going to sell off almost every good player we have for multiple seasons in a row, we’re supposed to draft in the top 3-5, not 7th-10th every year.

well uh....

you do
