Oh ok the damage control crowd is at full force today i seeIt’s all Molson’s fault…..??
WTF are you talking about?!!!!
because he didn’t select the player you desired to get picked??….out of touch is sitting in the mirror in front of you!!!….the world has gone mad lol
Its far better than the CHL, NCAA and the USHL ( where the majority of the draft eligible players came from). If Reinbacher played in the OHL he would have been a dominant player.I heard that this swiss league is a big step ahead of the ahl, anybody know ?
Am I the only one who thinks you can't win a cup with Caufield, Newhook and a Michkov in your top 9? And while we know or think Michkov could be better then Caufield we dont know by how much.
Also am I the only one who can't see any possible way that it would be working betwwen Torts and Michkov?
Honestly to me it felt like they settled too. Feels like they really wanted Smith and michkov was never an option.I wish I had these mental gymnastics skills. Listening to him speak felt like they settled on the pick.
Anyway, I'm excited for development camp. I think Reinbacher will impress and if he starts in the AHL, I can see him in the NHL at some point this year.
Reinbacher is a fantastic prospect. His tools are top 10. That said, Michkov's tools are top 2. That's the pain.
I dont think its true. It's pretty simple actually. If the report is true that the management is stunned by the level of idiocy of fans....they were not paying attention. That bunch still is actually unaware of what the market can be. It was totally unpredictable.
In a f***ing era where the idiots on Twitter are specialists of Covid one day, of forest fires, the next day, people thought that this pick would have not welcome stupidities? Geez...
In the end though, it's for EVERY OTHER SANE people to compensate. And show the kid that we support him no matter now that he wears our colors.
The SL (2nd tier league, Reinbacher played a season ago) is still a lot better than CHL, Othmann and McTavish said. NL is a different universe. NL is the same level as SHL...if not better now with more imports allowed and the KHL no longer an option for many. Having said that, scoring points may be still a bit easier than in the SHL. SHL is more structured, defensive minded and better coached. NL has lots of skill but is mostly poorly coached and offensive minded with little structure for the top league it is. I'd still value SHL points a bit more than NL points even though that's obviously an individual thing and depending on lots of other factors as well. As for Reinbacher, keep in mind he played for a poor team that only got promoted ahead of this season. Him and his d partner were the only plus players despite playing the toughest minutes. So with that in mind, Reinbacher's season can't be graded high enough. Its far better than the CHL, NCAA and the USHL ( where the majority of the draft eligible players came from). Alex Gascon from Radio-Canada was at the draft and he said that he spoke with some execs, and one of them told him that during an interview, Michkov seemed like he did not care and 'rolled his eyes' when he was asked about his defensive side of the game or questions he did not like.Honestly to me it felt like they settled too. I hate that lmao but F it. I agree Reinbacher looks incredible. Hopefully he can prove the Habs brass wrong and exceed expectations
They are playing against men. It would have been interesting to have seen how Bedard would have fared. The SL (2nd tier league, Reinbacher played a season ago) is still a lot better than CHL, Othmann and McTavish said. NL is a different universe.
For all the whining and cussing in here about our pick, I thought the Flyers made a big mistake not taking Leonard. Rookie GM and president going after the sexy pick.
Well,Alex Gascon from Radio-Canada was at the draft and he said that he spoke with some execs, and one of them told him that during an interview, Michkov seemed like he did not care and 'rolled his eyes' when he was asked about his defensive side of the game or questions he did not like.
I mean, passing on an offensive talent like Michkov stings a bit (even though I was on Team-Reinbacher for months prior to the draft), but what if the kid just had no interest whatsoever in coming to the Habs?
Also Paul Boutilier, a renowned defense coach who has been working with a bunch of young NHL defensemen for years, is on the record for saying that Reinbacher is one of the biggest talents and quickest learners that he has worked with.
The quick learning trait is a big one for me. Mental IQ is everything these days. Means he still has lots of room to grow.Alex Gascon from Radio-Canada was at the draft and he said that he spoke with some execs, and one of them told him that during an interview, Michkov seemed like he did not care and 'rolled his eyes' when he was asked about his defensive side of the game or questions he did not like.

Michkov probably has zero desire to play for most if not all teams except the Flyers. I think it was Friedman who said ahead of the draft that many teams were unable to even interview Michkov and the only way to talk to him is to attend games and trying to catch him there by chance. There's also rumors he told Arizona to get lost where the sun don't shine.Alex Gascon from Radio-Canada was at the draft and he said that he spoke with some execs, and one of them told him that during an interview, Michkov seemed like he did not care and 'rolled his eyes' when he was asked about his defensive side of the game or questions he did not like.

Maybe his red flags are really obvious to the professionals that have watched him play since he was a kid, have reliable intel from his club, and have had the opportunity to do an in-person interview with him? Seems possible.
I feel like this should be a shared sentiment lolThere's also rumors he told Arizona to get lost where the sun don't shine.
Yeah, everyone knows i liked Leonard a lot.It was a big mistake that they will come to regret. While I am fine with the Reinbacher pick, I would have gone with Leonard. You pass on that level of dynamic skating at your team’s peril. But if were going to pass on Leonard, Reinbacher was the only palatable option. Particularly when taking into account competing positional values.
Kuch and Point are very strong for small players. They are exceptional. But Stramkos, Hedmann and Maroon were big, no?Tampa won 2 cups and went to another final with Kuch, Point, Cirelli in their top 6......
I can’t disagree. But Reinbacher will be fine. In fact, more than fine.Yeah, everyone knows i liked Leonard a lot.
But i get that a #1 RHD has more value than a winger.
And Vazy was huuuugeKuch and Point are very strong for small players. They are exceptional. But Stramkos, Hedmann and Maroon were big, no?
I can't beleive you don't like Kopitar more than that. What does it takes for you to like a player? Gretz, Lemiou and McDavid? That's it? You still judge Kopitar according to his rank draft rather than what he accomplished. So in your logic he was drafted after Price, so he is inferior. Eh-euhh. it's doesn't work like that if we look at retrospect, 16 years later like that. Forget where they were finally drafted, in what year, 2007, 2005 ? What the rank they were drafted have to do in the conversation? You are ignoring the teams they were on.
Quick was a great goalie but he was not Carey Price. And he played behind teams that Price could only dream of. Quick would’ve been nowhere near as good behind the clubs Price was on.
Boring picks are - boring. But they can sometimes be the right pick in the long run. Even if you want to argue Kopitar would have been better - and I strongly disagree- he went several picks later. Quick was a needle in the haystack pick and played behind the best team in the league.
At worst, we got the third best player in the draft (I’d say easily the 2nd best) and there’s simply NO WAY to call that a bad pick.

Reinbacher was their guy methinks. Ahead of Michkov ahead of Smith. It's super exciting!!!Honestly to me it felt like they settled too. Feels like they really wanted Smith and michkov was never an option.
