I was a Price supporter, still think it was the pick to make but I remember at the time people were complaining that Kopitar + Quick was better.

Looking back, they were right. It has nothing to do with cherry-picking since right after the draft that is what some were complaining about.

It absolutely has to do with cherry picking, as more wanted Brule. Staal and Bourdon (RIP) were popular too.

It's not like this can't be improved? Clearly stated something in ceiling potential, doesn't mean he'll never solve the powerplay situation, I'm sure these kids watch these videos/hockey network as well to improve.

There is a saying that the higher the monkey climbs the tree, the more we can see it’s ass.

I think people messaging him personally is a line that was crossed but he will need to learn that if you want to play on the big stage, it comes with positives and negatives.

Social media has no accountability…..people need to be held accountable for their words. Free speech, sure, but there needs to be parameters. This forum for instance has rules, it’s not an all out assault if you disagree with a poster, you can be stern in a counter argument but all while being respectful.

Comparing Reinbacher to Hitler should earn you a lifetime ban, Zero tolerance for that kind of behaviour!!

Well, a lot of people wanted Brule or Kopitar. So it is sort of is cherry picking, because Brule would have been a terrible pick.

My memory is like a goldfish, so I wouldn't put too much faith in it yet, if I recall correctly, yeah, there were some that wanted Kopitar, but the grand majority of folks here were screaming Brule. Michkov was that year's Brule (in hype, who knows where he'll end up after his career). The want and rage for Brule was an order of magnitude higher than for Kopitar. I could be wrong but, I believe Brule also showed up before Kopitar in all/most prospect rankings that year.

How is it not a good sign? It is a good sign.. Issuing a problem early stages before coming to the nhl?
it's not a huge issue at all.

Prediction for potential is just so blackscreen for each players that are drafted after 1-2 or 1-3 range as far as i'm concerned.

I'm assuming something along the lines of:
Guhle/Barron
Hutson/Reinbacher
Xhekaj/Mailloux

If even a few of them hit heir potential then we're gonna have a very dynamic defense going forward. Multiple offensive threats, a few shutdown guys and plenty of meanness. I'm hoping Reinbacher develops a bit of a mean streak so I can call him Reino/Rhino lol

It's tricky though because nobody wants to show their hand to other teams in the draft.

Given the situation though… if someone jumped ahead of for Reinbacher that would mean one of the top 4 guys would fall into our lap- likely Smith who all signs point to being the top target.

As much as Reinbacher would not have been my choice, this behaviour is absolutely gross. This isn’t about a passionate fan base, this is about having common decency. How do we have so many freaking clowns in our fan base??? Really hope they all do what they say they’re gonna do and follow another team. Good riddance.

It’s true, Brule was the guy all Habs fan wanted… the supposed star with the French name. Price was a surprise pick and many flipped out. Worked out great though.

One important thing to mention is that Reinbacher will probably have been playing on the time for a whole two years before Michkov even comes to the NHL so this definitely shouldn’t be underestimated while picking someone.

I mainly think that’s the reason the ducks went Carlsson instead of Fantilli they thought he was more nhl ready.

If you told me right now who would you pick between Seider or Kaprizov to start your team I would pick Seider.

Reinbacher is the type of player that will quietly put 20 plus minutes and game.

I still would have preferred Michkov but I can very much understand why we picked Reinbacher.

me too. What Hughes said after drafting him is what pissed me off. it evoked zero confidence in the management.
