I would say 52 games of regular season in Swiss pro league is much more physically demanding than 68 games of OHL. You are battling every game against elite adult athletes.I just never understood the narrative of being physically tired when these Euro leagues are playing less than some U15 AAA teams here in Ontario.
Who are we rooting for? and why?Today @ 1:45PM ET are Game 3 of both Visp and Olten series. Visp is currently down 2-0 and Olten is tied 1-1 in their respective series.
I’m still having doubt on this pick. Leonard would have been terrific. Nothing in his play screams top 5 pick.

I don't know, I tought the playoff was starting next Week, no?Leonard was my preference from all the forwards, because I wasn't expecting Bedard, Fantilli, and Carlsson weren't going to be available. And I had a feeling Smith was gonna go before also. So Leonard was the forward I wanted (more than I did Michkov).
But even with that said, Reinbacher was a player I was more than happy they took. I think this kid will be a mainstay and play big minutes for Montreal down the road.
His production took a dip, but if you watch the games, you will feel better about how he's doing. I didn't watch games, but I've watched clips and even McCagg broke down some plays on the Sick Podcast a while ago. And he didn't only show clips of goals or assists, but great defensive plays. Reinbacher is a smooth skater who plays smart. Has an active stick and does a good job using his body to separate the player from the puck.
He's already 6'3" and 209 lbs, but he still has to grow into his frame, similar to how Slaf is still growing into his.
Legit question or sarcastic one because you already know?

Indeed. The Kloten/Ajoie relegation series is set to begin on March 16th. However, that series might not need to be played at all.
The reason:
In the Swiss League (2nd division), only Visp and Olten registered to be promoted to the National League (1st division). But for them to have the opportunity to play to move up, they need to win the Swiss League playoffs. They are currently in the semi-final series. So if they lose their respective series, then they will remain in the Swiss League. And Kloten and Ajoie officially will remain in the National League. And Reinbacher will be able to come as soon as those series are over.
However, if one of Visp or Olten win the Swiss League playoffs, then Kloten and Ajoie will have to play a Best-of-7 relegation series. If Kloten wins that, then they remain in the National League and Reinbacher can come over. But if Kloten loses to Ajoie, then they will have to play a Best-of-7 series against either Visp or Olten if one of them win the Swiss League playoffs. And that would delay Reinbacher's arrival by about a month.
So in conclusion, we want Visp and Olten to lose their semi-final series because that would mean Reinbacher comes over quicker.
Indeed.
Isn't Reinbacher on loan to Kloten?
Theoretically can't we recall him regardless. I mean what do we care about relegation anyways?
Sorry Kloten we aren't taking a chance on an injury in a nothing-burger series.![]()
Is it losing face to call up an asset you need for an attempt to make the playoffs. We can but we wont......out of respeK
Don't get your hopes up. He's got other commitments in Switzerland so it's unclear if he's gonna fly to Canada at all ahead of the summer. That will be determined once Kloten's season is over. He's gonna play in North America next season. I'm not so sure about this season though. Might be wise to allow him to play for Austria and let him focus on work and studies. He's got exams upcoming. If he's to fly to Canada ahead of the summer, he'd still have to do remote work, attending classes remotely and studying for exams on top of this. Sounds stressful to me. He probably wouldn't even have time to take part in most practices. Even in Kloten he's skipping many if not most practices, is sometimes just playing games. I don't know how much sense it would make to play for a new team without even having time to properly practice or take part in team meetings.Indeed.

It's not like Kloten did us any favors this season with their management/coaching issues.
I'm just spinning my wheels waiting for the draft.Don't get your hopes up. He's got other commitments in Switzerland so it's unclear if he's gonna fly to Canada at all ahead of the summer. I think if he's to come over it would be more for the experience. Maybe travel with the NHL squad a bit, get a game here and then and provide additional depth for the AHL squad if they make the playoffs and need bodies.I'm just spinning my wheels waiting for the draft.![]()

Lekkerimaki had 9 points in 29 games in the allvenskan in his D+1.
Then he totally exploded and became a top prospect with a stellar performance this season in the SHL.
Can yall f***ing relax with Reinbacher. His upside, talent and potential has not changed a bit and he may be on the verge of experimenting, pardon me, parabolic exponential growth and become an important pieces for us.
Context is important.

I mean we can all agree that his season has been somewhat underwhelming. I expected much more myself. His season was fine and not bad by any means but at the same time he was somewhat regressing in most areas. His regression was very much relative to the one of his team and teammates but it's still disappointing. You can tell who hasn't watched a game of his - it's hard to shine as a 19 year old on the worst team in a very tough league. They have no offense to speak of and we know this isn't a Makar level offensive prospect, Reinbacher's points will be largely off first pass, cycles in zone, pinches and activation. He isn't a supreme play creator where he will be giving his forwards wide open tap-ins.

I agree though that it's almost impossible to single handedly rescue an entire team as a defenseman at the highest level in Europe... let alone being this young. I also think that the circumstances were kinda against him this season. Had almost no offseason, missed Kloten's camp and a few games due to the Habs camp, then got injured soon after returning. Also, Kloten is on their 3rd coach this season which is especially for a player who, unlike his teammates, isn't really living the life of a hockey pro. I don't how the exact percentage of practices Reinbacher had to skip this season due to other commitments but I know he missed lots of them. Even after his return from Canada the first thing he did was go to work rather than to practice. I think coaching changes are kinda tough for a player unable to attend all practices. Each Coach wants to play a different system, is asking for different things from players. So if you're only present say every other practice and meeting you're just missing out on a lot of information. Which would be the case anyway but even more so if there are coaching changes.
Disappointing season but good players are able to deal with adversity, maybe even grow stronger. So I'm not worried just yet. Next two seasons are gonna be far more telling than this one. He'll be able to focus on hockey from this summer on and he'll then be able to prepare properly for the upcoming season so Reinbacher should be back to pre draft form soon...at the very least.
