I'll summarize :)

Kloten are 12th out of 14th in XGF% and second last in the standings (13th). Their top players are not playing very well.

Reinbacher has played 19th games, he has regained his game lately. He has the top ice time 5 on 5, the top xGF% on the team amongst defenseman. Overall he is shooting more, passing less although that has changed last few games. His skating has improved, his transitions (zone exits and zone entries) have improved, he is using his body more to separate opponents from the puck and his reach. Can't expect him to score points if nobody on the team is scoring. Top forward has 20 pts in 36 games, only one player with more than 10 goals in 36 games.

18 games to go, then a relegation game, then he will be in Laval early April.

I will say what struck me the most is just how bad his team is. I mean we say his team is bad but his team is historically bad.

Eight losses in the last ten games. 21 goals scored in those 10 games, three goals in the last four games. WOW.
good context.

It certainly won't help with Reinbacher's point totals that's for sure. Nothing wrong with playing through some adversity though. He definitely needs to come over once his season's done but I don't think it was awful for him to be in the Swiss League this year.

Independent of his team, I still don't think he had showed much improvement from my eye test anyways. Not too worried. He looked a lot quicker last game highlights I saw as he looked like he was skating in cement before. What he does well he does extremely well.

I apologies if it has been posted but here a thread from today with good updates on Reinbacher:

I'll let you draw your own conclusions :)
I was one who felt Kloten was the best bet going forward but I didn't expect the changes in the coaching staff.
On a redo Laval would definitely get the nod.
Bottom line if he's getting stronger and working on the faults our development team laid out for him I doubt it's a huge issue.

I forgot to add he mentions that he also had to deal with "physical growth" at the start of the season. Not sure what that means, he is still listed at 6'2 190lb.

The most accurate source this year for that is the NHL.com roster page, at least for players that participated in pre-season games.

Reinbacher was listed at 6’3 209 lbs during training camp.

Poor David, not only is his career going to be compared to Michkovs, but now Gauthier’s as well!! 😂😂

Anyway, looking forward to him coming to NA. I am optimistic that he’ll be worth the pick and more

And Benson, and Wood, and everyone picked in the top 15 range, except for the Zona picks.

Kloten has to have the worst roster combination ever: team full of smurfs that can't score

I think they should had kept Reinbacher at AHL level like Colombus and NJ have done with their young Czech D-men, Jiricek and Nemec.

His Swiss team is weak, and the jid was injured early in the season. Plus: we were told back in September, that he had some problems with his legs' bones

I think the player was more comfortable staying an extra year in Switzerland, probably finishing his studies, family presence to deal with the new fame (twitter death threats etc).

We forget they are still kids.

Ideal scenario now is that Laval makes the playoffs and Reinbacher joins the team and next year it’s either Laval or MTL.

That was the right decision, but I think we are all impatient to have him on the farm at that point.

That video just gave me the Reinboner back. It's a shame his team is really that bad and he has no support, but people should NOT be down on him. Rangy, good skater, physical, gets his shot through, very good stick, good coverage and now his hands are catching up.

He does force the play a lot in the neutral zone, but I can't blame him his team's so f***ing bad lmao.

Dead on. Yeah besides a couple bad passes it was a very solid game. But you can see how really disorganized they are. He spent what felt like 80% of that game in his own end. Broke up many plays. Used his size to pin guys along the board and take it away.

You can see he loves the give and gos but they aren't happening with this squad. He had some nice rushes. Nice spinorama to get out of trouble that one time in his own end.

For a kid his age and size he is a good skater but I do think it's the major thing he has to clean up. That's the key that will unlock the rest of his game.

If he's playing in the OHL, we'd be freaking out about him. It's massively impressive that he can play the minutes he does in a men's league at his age and do as well as he does. Hell even when he had some rough games there, he wasn't exactly that bad. He was just looking sluggish for the most part. Lot of bad decisions with the puck but it's not hard on that team.
