I think that there was a time when the KHL was a stronger league.

Right now it's hard to tell which other leagues are stronger. I did see a post claiming that the Swiss league is the second strongest in the world, but I did not check the methodology.

I do think that arguments about Mitchkov and Reinbacher are presently pointless given our collective lack of knowledge.
NLA clearly does not compare to SHL, AHL and KHL.

It's tough to differentiate between KHL, AHL and SHL as they are all pretty similar. I'd probably have SHL as a non-distant but solid 3rd and the other two in the air.

I am not sure I believe the Czech league is more difficult than the KHL. They didn't cancel the league for COVID until mid-way through the playoffs and it wasn't until the following year that imports stopped coming. Unless that is also taking into quality of competition since Nikishin played on the bottom pairing in his draft year.

Point is all the prospects we look at, aside from those already in the AHL, all have similar competition if playing in men's league. That goes for Reinbacher too.

More irrationality as you use obvious sophistry, trying to make this about me, pretending to know what I think or what my motivations are and all of this done hypocritically as you were the one talking about Michkov in the Reinbacher thread. Maybe, practice what you preach? Go to the Flyers board?

I simply responded to your very weak and irrationally driven argument, as men's league outside of the NHL/AHL circuit have always been filled with the Weals and Barbers of this world, it's nothing new.

I have no idea what you are rambling about... I think you got lost in replies or something, but you are making up nonsense at this point... or you completely misunderstood the post you quoted. Either way, no need to waste space with these silly posts.

Im pretty sure people around here were calling Michkov a bust the moment he got benched in SKA. They even said Demidov must've been better than him, since he was dressed! Not generational.

I don't know if you were part of that group but the evidence is pretty hard against those posters.

Now it's "The KHL isn't even a good league, Riley Barber is the top scorer FFS!" and "He plays on a bad team! (actually 5th in KHL)" and here you are with the "attitude" comments too.
The fact he mogged Galchenyuk and made SKA look like a bunch of lightweights was sobering.

I mean, are we really surprised with Michkov performance? Everybody knew he was a special talent.

The issue was never his game, but his contract and his attitude no?

On Reinbacher, i havent watched the game but theres some big beast highlights from Reinbacher first game.

I dont think we will have any problem if Reinbacher hit his ceiling. 1RD in this mould are untouchables core pieces.
Yeah Pietrangelo for example was frequently not listed in top 5 dman lists, yet look at the transformation of Vegas since he went there and the fall of St. Louis. Vegas were an underdog team that went on a run and then came down to earth the next year, then Pietrangelo helped turn them into a legit contender and cup winner. St. Louis basically imploded without Pietrangelo. They held on for a season or two in the regular season, thanks to some overperforming rookies, but the playoffs is where he makes a big difference.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that. The fact you can't even admit your argument was bad is very telling. It's even more telling when you keep up the posturing; Oh oh it's just silly ramblings, you've lost yourself, blah blah blah. Seriously, you're really bad at sophistry, you should just give it up.

Tell me, how strong is the NL with those top scorers who couldn't stick in the NHL for more than a few weeks? Does your ridiculous argument apply to Reinbacher too, fanboy?

More garbage posting I see.

Keep swinging at the strawman till you tire yourself out

Playing 9 or 37 games is not what I would call cracking the NHL.

Weal played 200+ and yet Millertime is acting as if the KHL has rubish, when it's pretty on par with the other leagues; no name never-have-beens.
No act required. KHL is what it is, only a fool would equate it to the NHL and form opinions from that pov

Chris Wideman won KHL defender of the year just before coming over. That was before more international players left the league when the Ukraine conflict started. The KHL isn’t very good.

Yup.

If RB hits on his potential, he'll be a cornerstone piece for a decade+.

The poise, attitude and maturity in his game at this age points favorably to an athlete that will make the most of his potential.

Future is bright 😎

I’ve said it a few times but Pietrangelo was absolutely brilliant against us in our Cup run. He almost single-handedly beat us himself. I shit myself every time he had the puck.

If Reinbacher is anything close to that player it will be huge

Who the f*** in his right mind bets against Michkov talent?

I don't believe the 'attitude' and 'contract' stuff, I think it was draft head games and we lost out big time.
Maybe? I don't know. We can believe what we want. At the end of the day, Michkov has not fell to 7 because of his on-ice flaws.

Pietrangelo i think is a pretty great example of what Reinbacher can have as an impact going forward.

I think Toronto would kill to trade Marner or Nylander for Pietrangelo.

If you can read between the lines...

tuning in on the 3rd period of Kloten's game. That's a period to forget for Reinbacher. That entire Kloten team is getting dominated lol

You didn't miss much. Outside of one sequence in the second where Reinbacher should have scored, the whole game as been bad.
One thing for sure, David won't be stuck in a long playoff run in March.

Some good points here from Dobber scouts.

TLDR; Reinbacher produces a lot of points from the perimeter, but will be harder to produce the same way in the NHL since he has less space. He would need to improve his handling so he can beat defenders 1-on-1 at the NHL level to create that space.

On the bright side, Damico says that Reinbacher seemed to activate a bit more during the game so he likely got the same message from the habs brass.

Very excited to see his development this year.

More posturing. I never equated the KHL with the NHL. I equated the KHL with the NL. NL is the swiss league, genius.

Maybe take the time to read what I wrote. You should also look-up what a strawman argument is, because you seem entirely clueless of what it means.

You tried to downplay Michkov's play by saying Barber and Weal are the KHL's leading scorers, in the Reinbacher thread. This is fact, not a strawman. A strawman is when you argue against something someone didn't say. Like you just did with your line about "only a fool would equate the KHL with the NHL" I never said anything remotely close to that. Now that's a strawman. Again, more hypocrisy, using a strawman while incorrectly accusing someone of using a strawman.

Talk about being lost.

We can only hope he becomes as good as Pietrangelo. It's a tall order.

Why would I waste my time reading such low quality posts?

Bad takes are one thing, garbage posts are another.

When you're done arguing with yourself, maybe a discussion emmerges, until then...

Enjoy the KHL lol
