The reason why this kid was drafted early is because he will be able to shut down top players night in night out, and they're hoping the other stuff flourishes too.

More explosion and better puck control is in the order. Otherwise, at the age of 18, this kid is probably one of the best defensive players in our roster, NHL players included.

I'm at the point where I want to win the lottery for Celebrini, less because of how good it'd be for the Habs and more because i think it might shut the michkov whining up
could the mods censure the name of Michkov until he's in the NHL ? or at least change the name Michkov by " the man we shouldn't pronounce his name. "

00:00 Give and go leading to a nice scoring chance.

00:08 Nice puck poise and pass.

00:18 The puck just dont want to go in.

00:30 Puck poise and mobility.

00:38 Thats what this kid is about under pressure, not only did he secure the puck through hard checking, but found a way to transition it quickly. Thats a part of his game where he is simply elite.

00:45 I loled at that braincramp since you will see it once in a blue moon with Reinbacher, he is usually so well connected that you have to put it on fatigue and jet lag.

Come WTK, you know that some love whining for the sake of whining.... there's no recipe to fix that.

We're what, less than a month into the 2023 D+1 year? and yet the complain crew already know definitively that RB was the wrong pick lol

Nothing the kid does short of having a Larry Robinson esque career (multiple cups included) will stop the whining.

Draft Celibrini and the next day they will cry over foul over anti-russian conspiracy theories costing us the real talent in Demidov

He (Grant McCagg) does it to himself…his own worst enemy.

"an EN goal the likes of which I have never seen before" hahaha

I love Reinbacher, but I do love joking about the pick because it was so on brand and predictable. Surely both parties can admit that.

I would have been happy with Michkov, but I'm also happy that we passed on him. Even with the contract aside, there is added character risk and the reports about his conduct leading up to the draft really turned me off, and I'm happy to not stake our future on some hothead asshole.

They should count GWG the way baseball does it, the run (goal) that puts you ahead for good. So if you're up 7-0 and the other team gets a goal in garbage time, the GWG goes to the guy who scored your first, not your 2nd. Always made more sense to me

I wouldnt say defensive player, i would say the most balanced player. Defensive D man dont carry the puck and dont have the offensive flair that Reinbacher has. Paired with Guhle, it will probably be one of the most balanced top 2D pair in the entire league, along with Makar/Toews imo. I really hope mtl drafts Heiserman or Celebrini next year!!

I meant that he already is one of our best players defensively, not that he is a defensive D. I am well aware of his potential to become a 2way D in the NHL.

Another example: Monahan is one of our best players defensively, but it doesn't mean he's strictly a defensive player.

I think a better way to do it would be to only award game winning goals in a 1-2 goal game.

In a 7-1 game not particular goal was decisive and no distinction should be required.

Kid. Can. Play.

I didn't want to draft him, but not because I didn't like him lol
So it's cool to see all this stuff from him for the first time for me
You can see what organizations were raving about at the draft now, he was Def the #1 D there
He’s such a good passer. Really good at joining the rush.

If he gets the shot and hands going he will be an absolute stud. His floor is still tremendous imo.

I think his puck handling is his only weakness right now and it's probably one of the easiest things to work on. This guy will be a 50-60 point 2 way dman and possibly our best player.

He's already working on it, in the clip you could see him try to manipulate on the blue line with his hands and change of direction, it worked too for a small forward moving play.
