I had Osgood-Schlatter as a teen. I had a huge growth spurt from 12-14 but didn't grow after that. For me it only went away a few years after I stopped growing. It's not just getting taller, your bones become more stiff and thats what fixes the problem. Of course, like most I filled out a lot after I stopping getting taller. So he had a lot of room to fill in potentially.
Is this a way to say you look now like a fat Elvis? :sarcasm:

It’s actually ridiculous this has become a “story”.

Sad lol

No it’s not. Literally anyone would have an interest in knowing their top prospect has a major health condition, regardless of whether it will sort itself out.

Do you think it wouldn’t be a story if Michkov or Bedard were hit with it? This is exactly the type of thing that gets picked up and discussed.

They should do stories about Hf Habs at this point. Have some dignity and cover whether WTK and Mrbip are ever going to makeup.

We won't. Sadly he's gotten worse over the years. He's like the Benjamin button of maturity and humility.

They do medical at the combine. That's when they found out Carles brother had the heart condition that made him quit hockey.

These guys get all kinds of information pre draft. Either he has it and it's not an issue at all, or he doesn't have it at all. It's such a non story that it isn't even worth discussion.

True, but after Price I am a bit gun shy. We were told all summer he be back at start of season. Then it lingered, and lingered, truth finally came out.

Sure they are. And we’ve got a lot of them.

“Very good” is different from “superstar caliber”. We have lots of good players in the system and I’m happy with the direction.

However, I don’t see the superstar that I believe we’ll need to win a cup someday. We’re probably midway through the rebuild so there’s time and it’s possible we have one in the system and don’t know it.

Our D looks pretty awesome. Really happy about it. We need a scorer and a goalie.
Not interested in splitting hairs. Our prospects are not special outside of Hutson and Reinbacher. Every team in the league has prospects like the rest of our prospect pool — which means they have little to no trade value, worthless.

They might develop and surprise. They might not. We can’t place any expectations on Farrell and Mešar, so I don’t see the point of praising them as uniquely special prospects or the Habs as uniquely positioned to profit from owning their rights.

No star power = no chance of winning playoff series.

There will be twists and turns to come in this story, and maybe some prospects will indeed surprise, but I don’t think we will get the necessary superstar out of this pool.

Not many teams have the depth of prospects we do. And yes we have many that are very good prospects. Our D looks set for years.

And if you don’t want to be called out don’t say silly things like our prospects aren’t very good. Don’t sit there and say it’s splitting hairs to call you on this. It was a dumb comment.

Yes, we seem to be lacking the blue chip star power of a cup winner. On this point I agree. But there are so many strong prospects in the system that we could wind up with multiple stars. ( not superstars to hair split again.)

I know you’ve already written off Slaf but he’s got potential, same with Dach. Roy has been great… I don’t think any of these guys will be superstar players but there are a lot of guys with really good potential. 6’3 240 lb skilled teenage forwards don’t grow on trees.

If one is to emerge it may be in the blueline. I think a top pairing of RB/Hutson could be amazing down the line.

More than anything I’d love a 100 point forward. Maybe he’s not there but there’s tons of young talent coming up.

A bunch of sub 5'10 point scorers. That's Wheelers favorite.
Definitely wouldn't have Benson ahead of every single player from his draft except the top-4 and Michkov. As for Reinbacher, we really need to see his d+1 before comparing him to some of the older prospects, though he should still be higher than 20 considering some of who's in front of him.

I get it, some people love tabloid-like headlines.

To each his own.

He also put Gabriel Perreault super high.

Wheeler was on the Toronto scouting staff that people praised every year for taking a bunch of 5'9 high point total Euros with high NHLe.

Anyone see any of those guys playing NHL games?

He’s paced for 48 over his last 83 games though. He’s just a kid and he’s going to be a great scorer for years.

I hesitate to use the word ‘superstar’ because it’s sets unfair expectations and he’ll always be limited by his size. But the potential to be a superstar is there.

Would it really surprise anyone if he scored 50 this year?

We don’t have blue chip superstars but CC, RB, Hutson… that’s really good. Some interesting players in Slaf, Dach, Roy and our D looks great going forward.

One big scorer would do so much for us. Imagine the impact it would provide if we could play a guy like Slaf with a big superstar to help him along. That’s what we’re missing.
If he stays healthy I agree with you but the fact still remains that 93-94 was the last time a Hab scored 40.

Caufield will get there.

True, he also seems to suffer from new toy bias.

Still, it's a fun read when you go into it with some knowledge of where his opinions come from. It's a detailed analysis coming from a point of view different from my own and I always enjoy reading longer pieces.

All I’m saying is the gem you’re looking for is here. CC is the real deal. If we give him a bit more ice this year and he stays healthy, I think he gets 50 this year.
Yeah I have to agree that we haven't had a pure sniper like Caufield since the Richer days.
I saw a photo of him yesterday shoulder pressing 50 lb dumbells which is very promising as he recovers from shoulder surgery.

The purpose is to get people to visit the site so that they can make money.
Again guys this isn’t rocket science it isn’t one guy’s opinion it’s a website linking to a source.

There is a difference, as the source is not the website itself. I get that websites need clicks to make money what a shocker.

You say that like anyone can't just create a website and claim to have sources.

Literally all you and anyone else does here is speculate and behave like a tabloid. You’re not close to above it.
I never anything about being above it.

Some people like tabloid like headlines, nothing wrong with it.

It's not personally my thing, not implying it makes me better.

No need to feel so inadequate.

If Suzuki, Caufield, Dach, Monahan and Matheson are healthy, this team might be in the running for playoffs until late in the year. Even 4.5 out of 5 might be good enough.
