Some need to understand that…

They where probably discussion on that pick and some prefer Leonard other Michkov and even Dvorsky but at the end of the day when they where ready to make pick, everyone agree on taking Reinbacher

That’s how it work everywhere when you take a big decision. 1st meeting some bring what they think and at the end they agree on a decision
They've had hour long documentaries showing the inner workings of how Team Canada gets selected. After the obvious choices the debate begins around the table and they hash it out until they come to a unanimous consensus. I likened it to a jury trial where you can't convict until everyone is on board.

General Patton had a saying "if everyone is thinking the same then someone isn't thinking"

Don't bother a lot of people don't know how it works...
They spend too much time talking and not enough time listening and I'm not implying it's any of us they need to listen to.
We sometimes come up with some good stuff! Head up!

The fact there were zero dissenting opinions on a prospect that was quite clearly not a unanimous pick on most lists is a bit concerning.

Due to the fact that GMs are, by nature, a very intimidating lot, they can convince their regional scouts into agreeing on an evaluation of a player, even if the entire year's scouting reports run contrary to what the GM says.

For example, I know of one team that had its GM go to the Prospects Game and absolutely fall in love with a player that the whole staff had agreed wasn't worthy of being a first-round pick. His off-ice character was sketchy, he was a bad teammate, and everybody knew he was a very risky pick. The scouting staff was in its first season with the team, and the more the GM raved about the prospect, the quieter they grew because they didn't want to disagree with their boss.

Even the head scout started to hedge his bets. Eventually, he started to try and find positive things to say about the prospect and, on draft day, the team found the player still available at their pick in the 20s. They practically ran to the podium to scoop him up. The prospect never panned out, and the team wasted a valuable first-round pick.

aaaahhhhh You saw my Slaf post. :sarcasm:

I'm working on it FFS!

It should be interesting. If this was last season it would probably have been a no brainer. But we now have a ton of options at the back. Maybe not at RD but enough to play a lefty on that right side.
It's not even about the big club but he could without a doubt play in the AHL right away.

I'm not saying he doesn't make sense or his numbers are fake but I would still like to somewhat temper my expectations.
Well, well, its the mature thing to do but on the other end we have such a nice prospect 🤣🤣

He said he wants to make the club this year.

Good luck beating Hoffman's guaranteed contract kiddd!
Ouch! At least its one year, Dvorak and Armia for two more years also. Trading one of these two would be superb

Unique free designs of today. Surelly handcraft by famous guitare shop.
All from the same guy, working alone .
He was the room mate of my brother for a while, he was just starting. He also have worked a little bit for me .It's a success story because the guy was so poor, living in his little shop, until he received an invitation to a guitars makers showcase in Germany.
He then realize how great his guitars sounds compared to others. After 2-3 years , he became well know by the other luthiers and by those who have collection of unique guitars . Now he probably sells his guitars around 20-30 k .

You could see his work if you Google his name Thierry Andre or andre instruments

Lapointe should have left with his boss.
The only issue I have with that is as outsiders looking in, how are we to know what his input is and how good of a job he’s doing? Plus, he has strong ties with Gorton from their Boston days.

The most we can say is that we may not like his face or that he gives off bicep broski vibes from his departed buddies — but that still doesn’t mean he’s incompetent.

I agree with all you said but I still have a hard time liking him! A skinny nerd with glasses would make a better impression.

Congratulations to Montreal for selecting Herr Reinbacher. Saw him play a few games last spring and played like a veteran, yes it's not the NHL but he's just a kid. Found a good interview with him and should show a bit more of what he is like, smart cookie no doubt. Goes without saying obviously as he comes from a historic baking family.

Every time Lapointe talks on the draft videos, all he says is, "guys, we got to make the right pick" and nods. Never heard him say anything of substance. Could just be the limited content, though..

Bobrov could sell you an old camry twice the price so sweet he talks but they still made some bad picks in NY.
