:laugh: that's not gonna happen my dude. That's like having a Toyota and asking it to be a Ferrari
Well, if Caufield gets 50 goals, Suzuki should not be far from 100 points, particularly in the conditions I described which is with a second line capable of producing, and a strong winger to go with 14+22.

I wonder how they navigate the whole NHL or not thing lol. I guess theres the easy excuse that he wants to go to school? As if programs didnt exist for him to finish while being over.
He also said he has a headhunting job that he’d like to finish and that he enjoys it because it’s different from hockey and good to have as a backup.

McDonagh was a terrific skater and nice physicality but Reinbacher is just so much better in transition and to carry the puck. He also has better hands, vision and shot

I would argue he is way closer to Doughty than McDonagh.
I like the Doughty comparison, because Drew's offensive results have been a notch below other Norris winners, but his two-way game tilting the ice was standout in his prime.

I have to highlights a paradox.

People are mad that we haven't drafted Michkov. Fair.

But i think if we drafted Benson, it would have been well received because the perception would have been that we would have aimed for high octane offense.

When in reality, Reinbacher is twice the player that Benson is.

Its all about perception, isnt it?
Reinbacher being twice the player that David is is truly perception.
How about Leonard? Same perception? Or 3 times maybe.

Michkov was accompanied by 3 bodyguards for the whole week, it could explain the lack of video.
I was about to say: it must be KGB. My friend at RDS told me they seized all cell phones and threatened their families.

I’d have gambled on Michkov…

But if he is a total jerk with questionable work ethic and questionable locker room fit, plus when you add in the Russian factor…
Had the Habs drafted Michkov, this forum would have loaded up on favorable excuses and hyperbole. Some would even have seen in him the fiery disposition of Rocket Richard.

You would also have read extensively about another classic forum trope — how well Marty could have groomed him cause apparently small people are uniquely suited to change the ways of other small people.

But since we didn’t draft him, he shall forever be known as Michkov the Angry Midget.

Warmed up to the pick. Hopefully he becomes a top paring two-way defenseman munching around 25 minutes a games.

Still think habs lack 1 superstar up front.
I guess they took Michkov completely out of the equation for whatever reason. They may have some information that made him not an option. So basically the two major needs outside of goaltending are a #1 all situations D, and a #1 offensive star forward. I suppose the Habs management, and I would agree with them, decided that they could get that dman, but that particular forward was not available at 5. Like Leonard is a good player, but is he going to be better than Suzuki and Caufield? Personally I think Benson could be that guy but clearly the NHL scouts all disagree so we will see.

Its a case where i believe actions speak louder than words. He drafted Slaf above Cooley and Wright. He drafted Reinbacher above Michkov and Leonard.
That’s right — my only confusion is the D2 comment. Unforced error.

In any case… he’s a heck of a prospect huh? Very mature. I see the Weber comparisons.

I’m taken Doughty before Stamkos to build my team personally

As I would take Hedman before Tavares
Wouldn’t even be a question for me. A guy like Doughty is on the ice for 30 min in the playoffs and even if he doesn’t get a point he could be the most valuable player just by tilting the ice against the other teams offensive forwards and making them play in their own end. Watching Vegas this past playoffs has me very happy with the Habs selection, when I may have been less so in the past. When you have a bunch of giant, fast skating defenseman that can move the puck it almost doesn’t even matter what forwards the other team has.

Don't go anywhere it's evident you'll likely have 3 years of opportunity to come back with smart(ass) rejoinders on either side.:sarcasm:
I'm good with it!

Not many people said that in 2008 and 2009. Perhaps people have gotten better at projecting dmen.

Plus Tavares underperformed in his career.

Habs have the resources and access to specialists, if they want to deal with it. Wouldn’t be surprised if both some minors as well as judgment impaired adults were involved. Let the cops sort it out. We’re just innocent bystanders hoping for the best. Nothing more we can do.
There should definitely be more accountability on the Internet. Idiots, bullies and unstable people are using social media like a weapon. They wouldn't dare say those things to someone's face.

Lol surprised you won’t answer this.

It's extremely blasphemous, and in no way do I think he'll ever win 7 Norris trophies, no one can. But that's who comes to my mind when I watch him play. More realistically in terms of output I think of Dobson.

He's another guy who was said to not be dynamic enough, who created offense from defense, transition, getting pucks through, and being on the ice a lot.
