Thats not actually his job, its a common misconception out there. You can't be a hype guy every night. Sure you can do it from time to time but you aren't making a team full of players play harder because you are dancing around in front of them every night, it gets old and nobody tunes in after a while, they are pro atheletes, they should be able to motivate themselves and too often they don't, thats on the players. If you wanna say he didn't prepare them for this style of game I'm ok with that but an Nhl coach isnt pulling a herb Brooks every night.
