Riding top players: Not a false narrative when you take into account Panarin et al playing 90 secs of every PP and the majority of every OT. That's what I mean riding them. You narrowed it down to TOI bc it suited your narrative.

Defensive improvement: Let's bring in a good offensive coach too.

Man management: Look at his handling of the Shesty/Lundquist situation eg. I don't see much of this touted great communication skill with the players. The player grape wine was not impressed.

Knoblauch: Not irrelevant. Try a new coach and watch the players be much happier :)

Just want to put up my hand and say Quinn is doing a good job in a tough situation. Rebuilds are rough. We all see the talent but when it’s doesn’t translate to wins and playoffs, who gets blamed? The coach. It’s all pretty academic but I believe very few coaches would have us even this close to the playoffs along with the kids developing.

It’s an unique situation that this team and its fan base finds itself in and for a coaching staff that finds itself being tugged in different directions. Part of this team is absolutely ready to play in playoff situations—Panarin, Zibanejad, Strome, Kreider, Buchnevich, Sheshterkin, Fox, Lindgren, Trouba and maybe Miller along with a few decent foot soldiers and part of it isn’t and a lot of that part is the real future of the team. I don’t see Quinn as the problem like others see him but i also really wonder if he has the goods to take us all the way.

The hating on whoever’s the coach stuff on this forum is never going to end. People got sick of Renney, then Tortorella, Vigneault and now Quinn. I have no doubt whoever’s next is going to get a lot of shtick too.

This board isn't exactly unique. The same sentiment rages on almost every team's board.

Weird, huh?

Anyone who was for signing Panarin for 11.6 mil per year for 7 years and now thinks the Rangers are riding him too much—this is exactly what the team and Artemi signed up for and it differentiates us from other non-playoff teams particularly the bottom feeders that usually pick early. We were lucky the last two years winning the lottery—we’re not the same and way ahead of the Devils, Sabres and Red Wings.

Just gossip from Swedish telly tbh. Some Swedish ex-NHLer talking about Quinn's style, in that case about Shesty and Henrik being 1A/1B starting goalies. That guy was not a fan.

Dude where did this stuff about the kids not getting “chances in the rotation” come from?

Now Panarin is playing too much? First of all, they’re paying him $81,500,000. Second of all, he plays a normal amount for a star forward around 20:00. For f***’s sake JT Miller plays 21:00.

It just seems like Quinn is riding them really hard because we got used to AV’s ice-time socialism. Like most things Quinn does, his usage of Panarin and Zibanejad is disappointingly normal.

1st period isn’t even half over and Panarin-Strome-Blackwell*, Kreider-Zibanejad*-Buchnevich already scored lol.

Edit: lirl now PP1 scores

I do not think it is punishment. I think it is being done to actually get more time to the third line and hopefully get someone like Lafreniere going. Do I want him to be moved down? Of course not. But let's see how much time he actually spends there the next game and how much ice time he gets in general.

You called it - at least for last night.

Laf - 14:52
Kakko - 14:43
Chytil - 14:46

Let's be honest about this though. Some of that was also probably due to Quinn managing the situation as to how the game was being played out. Which, again, most coaches in his position would probably do.
