I've said this before, Quinn is the Rangers version of Denis Savard.

He'll get fired after this season or next season and we'll hire a championship-level coach.

well, one positive trend is that we are not getting brutally outshot every game like last year. In fact we have been heavily outshooting the opposition (outside of game 1 which I don't even count). Hope that trend continues.

A nice guy but not a good head coach. You need to be a CEO as a coach and multitask and have a feel for your team.

If fans can see you need to spend 15 minutes more during a practice working on faceoffs every day and to constantly tell these players to shoot first as an in-game adjustment but he doesn't, it says a lot.

This is from Carpiniello's article on The Athletic. This type of stuff irritates me. Hmm, they are up 3-1 but playing like they are DOWN 3-1. Isn't that YOUR job to get them to make that adjustment, COACH? Things like this are why I think he is just a placeholder until they are ready to seriously contend.

“I think it’s part of our learning curve,” Quinn said. “We have to understand situational hockey. You know, we’re up 3-1 and a lot of good things are happening, and we didn’t really understand the moment. With six minutes to go (in the second), we’re still doing things like we’re down 3-1, and it came back and bit us. … It’s part of our learning curve. We’ve got to understand, when we’re up 3-1, there’s a certain way to play. We certainly didn’t do that.”

So they should sit back and defend when up 3-1? That's what everyone criticized AV for. If you're up 3-1 you should probably just continue to play the same way that got you there.

We have the coach implying they should not have been playing the way they were so why didn't he as the coach do something about it?

The guy never blames himself, he always blames certain players or the group as a whole, it is getting tiresome.

Why does it have to be so complicated?
It's not rocket science.
There's 2 sides of the ice.
You attack one side and defend the other.
The score doesn't matter.
There's no time frame for this..

so Smith blocked a shot and set up Panarin for a goal and in a few days gets scratched. Why? How does this coach get away with crap like this?

Smith straight up sucks. As does JJ.
Does it really matter?
Pick your poison..

You can literally make that argument against every coach. *Team loses *Coach explains what went wrong *HFNYR, isn't it your job to fix it?
