Hertl got to him- so obvious

Pastrnak could dress like he’s Don Johnson in Miami Vice every day in sunny San Jose - which I believe is the number one show in Czechia - that or CSI Prague.

Meier likely traded next 22 days and Pastrnak is the replacement plan

Vlasic Courure and Leblanc coming off soon and they can pay Pastrnak 7/100 or flip the Bruins a pick for his rights and go 8 years

He’s gone Lou

Eichel wants out - Stone after 2 back surgeries will be LTIR and traded to Toronto or Tampa - Vegas will be rebuilding they won’t want Eichel even if Cassidy somehow survives

Eichel should be back up plan

Everyday this resembles a combo of the Betts/Bogearts contract issues

I’m going on record $100 M from San Jose

My February lock
The clock starts now.

Pasta said he and the agent were going over things. So no signing this week say could be one of three things

Agent telling him to wait

Bruins offer not near it needs to be

Pasta contemplating maybe actually leaving

From this point on the longer it goes the worse I will feel

How would San Jose fit him cap-wise? They would have to trade some core players to fit Pastrnak whereas the Bruins have the cap space to sign him right now.

I'll never understand the difference. Sorry, just can't. $11M? $12M?
Will his lifestyle change if instead of getting a paycheck for $425,000 (every other week) he holds out for say $500,000? If you are content where you are that is not very significant. So if he moves it must be for other reasons.

I went out this past week to eat with a group of hockey people I met in Prague in 2010. We got luxury box owners and people that own over 10 seats - people that know Jacobs and people in FO. I’m told pasta resigning and it should be done shortly

Well that was Thursday night ? It’s Sunday

Sick of waiting

I demand a signing

From Matt Porter Globe today

On an episode of his “32 Thought” podcast released Friday morning, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman said the Bruins and Pastrnak’s agent, J.P. Barry, are “moving towards getting (a deal) done,” and that the Bruins have “bent to Pastrnak.”
The hockey world is here in South Florida this week, and while Friedman didn’t say he spoke with Barry directly, he insinuated he spoke with several player reps.
“I think we’ll find out that when this one is over, we will find out that David Pastrnak pushed the Boston Bruins in a position they didn’t think they would get to and didn’t want to be in,” Friedman said on the podcast. “What’s the biggest weapon you have in a negotiation? The willingness to say no.
“I think David Pastrnak had a willingness to say, ‘Look, if you guys aren’t willing to do this, it’s going to be a problem.’ I think he pushed the Bruins into an area that maybe they didn’t want to go, and I think it’s going to get done because they recognized it has to get done. That’s my opinion.”

Ouch

I’d be kind of pissed if I’m on team and took less but I’ve always been a team guy

I wish we would wait until we see the numbers before starting the smear campaigns but these are the times we live in.
Who’s doing a smear campaign

Did you read what Friedman said

Read it and concentrate on the words

Pastrnak pushing Bruins to place he wants

I’ll wait till I see the amount before I need to post what I been sitting on

Hopefully won’t need to

But if it’s over 12 I will

I am sort of playing against type here, but "go over some things" does not scare me. In fact, I think it might be good news. At least there are details to go over. ...Odds are he is not going to mention any offers, so this is about what he should say.

This is exactly what I’m talking about. Friedman is putting it on pasta before the contract is even signed. We have no idea what the numbers are. He could have been getting lowballed for all we know.

And now you’re saying you’ve got some unflattering information about him but you’re only going to share it if it’s over a certain threshold? Lol

Does this create any cultural challenges in the room given comments made by Marchy?
Marchand comments and Friedman’s article are fascinating

I had Pastrnak at 8/88 but maybe reading Fridge it’s 8/100…..maybe Marchand knows 12 or 12.5 M per could have ramifications on keeping Bergeron and or Krejci?

Maybe they want to comeback but think why the F should I take a discount if this guy is going for X

Maybe it’s all BS in Friedman article

They probably need to win this year

Not Pastrnak lol / his agent doesn’t look to good to me / Pastrnak already said he hasn’t talked to Barry in months

You pay the guy who has 38 goals at the AS break. It would be great for the team if it was a discount but paying premium price for premium talent should be expected and we should still stay competitive.

12m shouldn't sink a team, what sinks teams are contracts like Mike Reilly's and having few to none ELCs

Pay him and lock him up for 8 more

Hopefully Brad will still pass him the puck and we don’t have a Rondo and Allen situation

I don't like this, any of it.

At this point let it ride out and take that risk. Need to go all in this season at the deadline for Bergy first and formost

Let him work out a deal with another team before the deadline and make a hockey trade. You don’t win the cup after going all in AND lose Pasta for nothing you lose your job. Amazing it took the reigning Stanley Cup champions to extend a better player than Pasta in five minutes but this group can’t get it done

Maybe that’s how they fit Horvat or Larkin into the lineup next year.
Let Pasta walk.
I hope not. There was a chance we could have fit Horvat or some other top 6 center in, but that went out the window with the Zacha signing.

Paying him 12m would be a disaster. So ice a team with more ELC's ? Do you like Foligno's contract?

Mike Reilly will be the least of the roster problems when you pay ANY player a max contract. Just can't do it in a cap league
