He's fine. Ugh.

Isn't this a player discussion page? What's the big deal? Nobody is saying he sucks. Nothing wrong with commenting on his game. To deny that he doesn't have a few things to work on (and I'm sure he's doing just that) would be naive.

Just sharing thoughts on the kid, not saying I don't appreciate what he's done to this point.

Relax. I'm just giving you my $.02. After all, it is a discussion page.

Despite the fact that a big part of his game is speed, I think he'd benefit from slowing it down a little more often. I find that he over-skates pucks often as well as loses edges/loses his balance at an extremely high rate.

I find him being juuust a little off from making a solid play on many occasions and most importantly I'd like to see him exercise smarter decision making.

For me, he's allowed to make seemingly poor decisions because of the sheer number of daring decisions he makes. He doesn't become deflated when a play doesn't work and that's a great characteristic to have.

I do agree that he can become more 'solid' though, and when he inevitably does he'll be dominant.

Haven't been able to watch the Bruins much recently but it seems like he's still putting up good points, just all assists.

Obviously he wasn't going to keep up a 70-80 goal pace... He still has 19 goals in what, 40 games? Marchand went/goes on scoreless streaks all the time. He's probably battling some confidence issues after his injuries at the beginning of the season, his suspension, his surgery, and now a goal drought. He's the type of player where a lack of confidence hurts nearly as much as a pretty major injury. I've only seen highlights during the past week but it seems as though he's still doing great in terms of playmaking, and Bergy/Marchy doing better likely has a lot to do with this. I bet once he scores another goal he'll catch fire again. We've seen the type of player he can be, as a 20 year old these droughts are just learning experiences. It's better that he goes through them while the rest of our offense is scoring. He's 20 and he has a lot to learn, it's incredible how much he's progressed in 2 and a half years but he was definitely due for a cold streak.

Which arm was the surgery on? The upper arm on the stick or the lower arm? He could just need to regain strength in the arm - especially surgery around a joint. Short term weakness and residual pain during certain motions- give him time. I expect shortly he'll start popping them in again.

I understand he is young and will have his ups and downs but man was he a tease the first quarter of the season. Hopefully he can find his confidence again soon.

In my opinion, they rushed him back too early after the surgery on his elbow.

I think the surgery thing is just coincidental. Like I don't think he is slumping b/c he's hurt, I think it just killed his momentum and now he's in a deep funk.

Good to see him get the monkey off his back. Hopefully he gets his confidence back. He's been doing well with his playmaking, would love to see him go on another tear.

So he couldn't keep his pace from the first quarter of the year.

That's called reality. Not a "slump".

He's been putting up points pretty consistently, even if they haven't been goals. He has been contributing.

He is not an Ovechkin. He is however, uber talented, and that will certainly bring him somewhere positive in this league. He is the least of my concerns and I consider ridiculous tears like he had to start the year awesome, while also out of the norm.

Very true but I would suggest the prolonged slump ( as far as goals go ) he was in was outside the norm for Pasta for whatever reason ( surgery , loss of timing ) .

I"m really hopeful this gets him to be a little more selfish with shooting again. Feel like during this slowdown he's been hesitating a lot more then he should with shooting.

I'm not sure if it's sarcasm, it looks like it isn't, so I wanted to share this with you guys. On The Hockey News, there's an article on how Pastrnak was a draft steal at 25th for the Bruins: http://www.thehockeynews.com/news/a...-pastrnak-looking-like-a-steal-for-the-bruins
This is what a guy from Montreal commented:

if the Bruins stole this player, why hasn't anyone done anything??? Shouldn't there be a lawsuit against the Boston Bruins!? I knew this team was doing fishy things behind the NHL's back just like the year where Chara hit Patches.... i can't believe Gary Batman doesn't do anything! And why doesn't Jared talk about how the Bruins stole this player?? So much missing information, this is terrible journalism, Jared should be fired (Jared is the guy writing the article)

(PS: note the Gary "Batman")
