I wasn't saying that, I was simplifying another posters comp of pastrnak who said pastrnak is like bure offensively but better defensively and more physical and gritty, AKA, Pavel bure, but better.

I've said it since he was drafted and I saw him at world juniors he reminds me of Jake voracek the way he creates plays both with his skating and his passing. Now he's added a voracek like slap shot. The only difference is size to me.

I meant more in terms of style in the Bure comparison. The speed, slick hands & shot arsenal. Bure had some impressive offensive numbers, and was a naturally gifted skater.

This team has longed for a top scorer for quite a while. To have one whom was drafted & home grown who at the ripe age of 20 is atop the league goals scored category is fun to watch as a fan.

Most guys wouldn't have scored on the first goal he got . They would have made the initial attempt and that would have been it . He stayed right with the play using great agility and calmly stuffed it home . What a talent !

yep, would have done the fly by after the first attempt

OT: not enough credit to Schaller IMO on the bank pass. Looks easy from the perch I`m on at home but heads up play, just loving that guy`s game too

Prefer him on bottom 6 but doing ok for the time being. Kid brings energy and hustle shift in and out

I agree,he's an honest player filling a void, but certainly is playing in a slot above his paygrade.

...

I don't think I've ever seen a player who looks like David Pastrnak.

If you think of the 360 degrees around a player, the unpredictability of where in that circle the puck comes off of him, crossed with an offbeat timing and incredible accuracy... It's just different than anything I've ever really seen before. And that's while failing to mention the prime opportunities he can create while in the midst of a physical battle with a defender.

It'd be one thing if it was just his speed or puck skill we were commenting on. But there is something fascinating in the way he processes the game.

You just described Crosby. Crosby has that unbelievably fluid grinding style though. While Pasta shows he can grind now, he looks choppy doing it. Like a Patrick Kane who shifts through traffic instead of around it.

What's crazy is that Bergeron is still asleep/injured. He's good for ~2 absolutely dominant offensive streaks a season, and you bet Pasta will help him there.

Lock him up, and you have the best line in the NHL for at least 5 years.

Seguin maybe had a little more talent or potential, Dougie was a tougher position to fill... But this kid has the grit, leadership, skill, determination, attitude, ethic.... You name it. This isn't one you can **** up

Marchand/Bergy/Pasta have Corsi numbers there are right up there with the final Seguin years (when he played on that line). They are possession beasts. Best in the league on this count right now.

Middleton was one of my top 5 favorite Bruins

Pasta has Middleton traits but is more powerful and less nifty/slick

his speed with a touch of recklessness reminds me of Tony Amonte - loved Amonte in the day so that is a compliment

I can see a lot of players in him, and I think that's a great thing. He's someone who had his ears open and mouth shut for his first two years, learned a lot and never took anything personally, had to battle some injuries, changed parts of his game drastically, but now it's his time and he's a leader on the ice... But you can tell he's still taking everything in. Everyone who should be in their prime should be asking themselves why the hell a 20 year old who's making 5x less than them is making everyone on his team look like a bunch of peewee players.

He's never felt entitled to anything and has been gracious to any opportunity he has gotten, and has proven the coaching staff and management right every step of the way. His skill is one thing, but I think that his character and accountability is even more rare. He's definitely a leader for this team now and I think he'll be officially recognized for it soon.

Yep, not his fault, rather he than Hayes in there that`s for sure, at least with Schaller, there`s a chance he`ll make something happen

so clear how much time and effort Pasta put into getting physically stronger this past summer, kid just seems to, each year, push himself to get better, so great to see

I love watching Pasta play. He comes running out of the tunnel yelling "Let's go !!!"

He makes watching the B's fun.

He has grown so much in a year with his complete game.

Bruins have now their top-sniper. One of the bests in the league and he's only starting his career.

Lock him up for Scheifele money (49M/8y) and enjoy the show.

The steal of the 2014 draft.

He'll eat all of our cap space for next year if Sweeney doesn't sign him quickly.

Are we talking comparisons?

I very young Jagr. Puck control, sees the open ice, good release, play along the boards. Even looks like the early lanky Jagr.

There's an article on the Bruins website about their annual toy shopping trip for sick kids. Somebody asked Pastrnak how it was going and he said great, I think I'm $300 over budget.
