Kid just keeps bringing it. Unbelievably fun to watch.

Pasta > Tyler Seguin.

Imagine if we had both! :sarcasm:

We couldn't have. With Seguin, we likely beat the Habs in 2014 and probably win a 2nd Cup. Bruins would have drafted 30th instead of 26th and rumors were that the Habs were interested in Pastrnak and would have taken him in their regular drafting spot instead of 27th like they did when they took Scherbak just after the Pasta pick.

Silver lining, Bruins lost to a bad Habs team in 2014 but Pasta make it a win. Right?

He didn't get a goal last night... I know he got an assist and a shootout goal, but I just hope something isn't wrong with him... :sarcasm:

Have you seen Seguin's last ~30 playoff games?

Also Pastrnak was drafted 25th.

A superstar is born !

Nah he was born 2 years ago with his 2 goal game against Tampa I think. But man has he matured a lot even in the last 12 months. Last year he had lazy bad giveaways, tried to just flip the puck over sticks that cost us goals, none of that this year, there still are turnovers, but thats when he is trying to create plays which is okay with me. I hoped this would be his breakout year, I just hope he stays healthy! He's cracking 30 goals this year. Comparison for me (nothing to do with style of play) is Tarasenko, 3rd year breakout 30+ goals.

Perhaps but as you mention prior to this year he only showed flashes of his potential and it didn't necessarily mean he was going to progress and take the next step which he has . He looks capable of winning games all by himself . Not suggesting he will maintain his current pace but he doesn't show any signs of slowing down and Bergeron and Marchand should start increasing their offensive numbers .

Say what you want about Pastrnak, but he was never lazy. He just had some growing to do.

Sometimes I watch pasta and wonder how he actually has 15 goals already, he doesn't play particularly slick or explosive, almost like he has the "drunken" karate style to his game...but that to me is actually a good sign. I'd rather a guy that just gets on the score sheet every night without really standing out (for the record, last night was a standout game) as opposed to a guy that wows you but goes cold for stretches

It really helps that he plays on the Marchy-Bergy line. Most nights they are creating space for him and setting him up. But while that happened on one of the goals last night, Pasta was "on it" last night. Creating space for himself, making high IQ passes. What a game. What a player.

he plays like he wants it every night, doesn`t take shifts off. On the first goal, right in the dirty area, willing to take punishment, not every player has that within themselves to be willing to sit there and take it if it comes. Loves the game, plays with passion, and from all reports, seemingly uses his summers to get himself ready for the season and to be better than the previous one, he`s a keeper

He is what they hoped Seguin would be.

The kid is on fire.

The comparison doesn't do much for me - all it makes me think is 'they should both be on this team'.

But if a gun was held at my head and I was to choose between the two, I'd go for Pastrnak. He's more of a heart and soul player.

Is this serious?

Seguin at 19- 29-38-67 led the team in scoring, over Bergeron, Krejci, Marchand and Lucic.

Pasta at 19- 15-11-26.

Why even bring Seguin up? What does he have to do with Pastrnak?

Pasta's game has elevated this year, don't think anyone disagrees on that.

Seguin at 20
16-16-32 in 48 games

Pasta at 20
15-6-21 in 21 games and counting.

I would also be willing to bet my left nut that if this team was to go on a Stanley cup run(highly unlikely), Pastrnak could muster more than 1 goal in 22 games.
