I loved the video tribute with both past and present Bruins. I’ve been critical of Bruins management on more than a few occasions, but they got this one right.

I can’t believe they even got Jaromir Jagr to record a greeting! I know his time here wasn’t spectacular, but he’s pretty hilarious, and it was nice that David got a shoutout from his boyhood hero.

Bumping this because I wanted to ask if anyone has seen this f***ing guy in the last 3 months? He's been MIA for a long time now, after a solid start to the year. After him taking a year to play in a beer league, I'd nearly forgotten why he was such an infuriatingly annoying player to watch. This would be like his 5th playoff in a row where he's no showed. He's a negative player rating wise in 5 out of his last 7 playoff series, with one season being a neutral. So out of 7 years, only one playoff run has happened where he wasn't a problem and costing them with his on ice play. If I was Boston, I say have a nice life after the end of this year and move on.

TL;DR: Put Zacha back in the 2C hole between Pasta and Bertuzzi and move DK to anywhere else but there. Preferably the bench or a seat up high.

Sounds like the 1C hole is the problem

He started well, and the last quarter of the season really faded like the grind just got to him and at his age, there may be no coming back Playing last season in a comparatively soft league did him no favors, all of which you pointed out. But yeah, 100% agreement on 2023 DK. So much for the "twinkle in his eye" and statement that "I'm a playoff guy." Not so far.

He just can't keep up. Maybe he will now, down in Florida, but he is an absolute anchor to Bert and Zacha right now. Put him with 63 and 74 because they can probably cover for him with their work ethic,. Still not writing him off. 70% starts in the O zone and he's still being caved in.

And he can't buy a win at the dot. Brutal.

I trust Monty and all, but pretty much everyone looking at this team sees the same thing and that is that Krejci needs to be up with Marchand and Debrusk and Zacha with Bert and Pasta. But he's not budging at all.

I’m hoping it’s just related to illness. The guy is so cerebral and has magic hands…but yeah he struggled in particularly in the last game. His passes and decision making were off.
He is an incredible person and teammate. I have no doubt he’s giving it everything he has. Here’s hoping things improve.

I don`t think anyone outside Coyle has played well and some of the credit has to go to the Panthers who are playing with far more assertiveness, active sticks, speed, using their bodies to separate player from puck, it ain`t just DK

Literally the only player who , IMO, has played the way he needs to is Coyle who has been terrific with puck protection, everyone else, pucks getting poked off their sticks, losing board battles

Zero urgency so far from our troops, not just DK

No Bergeron, and Krejci struggling. The ONE possible hole in our lineup was depth at Center. We can handle one of those 2 being out, but not both....In fairness, the same holds true for every other playoff team as well.

Until #37 comes back, I don't think you have a choice BUT to stick with Krejci. Once Bergy comes back (whenever that will be), I think healthy-scratching #46 could be a consideration, unless we see him pick his game up.

Was waiting for this post from you.......but this time I largely agree. Krejci just hasn't been good through two games so far. He's got a little bit of an excuse in coming back from injury, but he hasn't got long to sort things out.

We know this is a risk factor for the Bruins - winning a Cup with two top six centers aged 36+ is generally not done, for pretty obvious reasons. But depth and Zacha give them potential ways around it. As long as Bergy is out, DK plays. But when the captain comes back, they may need to have a hard conversation about what that means for Krej and the best balance for the rest of the lineup.

We'll see. Krejci will definitely play tomorrow. Hopefully he improves, because an in form Krejci is still a weapon for this team. If not, then it gets tricky.

Any updates on DK's injury? The fact that it was a last second scratch makes me feel like it was a real borderline day-to-day thing. Possibly the flu that went through the team, possibly something that got agitated in morning skate.

Despite winning without him, it'd be very helpful if he were back in game 4.

He took a few hard smacks on the ice down behind the net during Game 2, one in particular looked very painful and he got up slowly. When he got scratched last night I wondered if it was because of that.

Montgomery seems doubtful he’ll even be an option for game 5. Unless he’s playing mind games, that is concerning.

Have to wonder if it’s what ever injury he had toward the end of the regular season and if it’s going to be a reoccurring thing for the rest of the run.

This edition of the Diving Deep series looks at David Krejci’s rise to becoming a clutch performer in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the Bruins

While it doesn’t look like he will be playing tonight, it’s just a matter of time before David Krejci returns to the Bruins line up. Here’s an in-depth look at the career of the Bruins’ icon.

Sure didn't look too great in his 2 playoff games this series. -3 and noticeably dragging his line down. Team has played better without him. Now that he will have had a long rest and should be 100% for the next series I am expecting to see shades of the playoff Krejci we all know and love. Round 2 onward Bs will need as many hands on deck as possible.

While others can debate if a healthy, productive David Krejci still exists (I certainly believe he does), this team was missing him last night.

The bruins were very assertive in the offensive zones for long stretches, the shot disparity shows this, but I also saw a lot of the team gripping the stick and almost anxious to score. McAvoy for instance had at least 3 very impressive moves to the net/behind the net that all sort of died on his stick at the end. Everyone was bringing the effort but they were missing a dose of finesse at the end.

To me, Krejci shines in these situations as he lowers the collective blood pressure/pulse of the team in these moments, and brings a bit more finesse to those last 1 or 2 touches on scoring opportunities. I think his presence in some of those o-zone moments last night would have been worth one more goal for the Bruins.
