How is he defensively? Ducks need RHS for everything, almost everyone of the young high upside guys are LH. But Anaheim also doesn't really need offensive guys (except a big point shot)... they've got puck movers to spare.
As a Habs fan i offer Mailloux and Calgary's 1st.
Makes sense, but with the Ducks it's not just D... they have Luneau, Terry, and Sennecke as RHS. Basically every other top 6 F/ top 4 D are LHS.The Jackets are in the same position as the Ducks with more LD than RD, they have no reason to trade Jiricek.
This Blues fan would do it - and I love Jake "From State Farm" Neighbours, and it would be like pulling wisdom teeth without anesthesia.I would prefer someone like
Byfieid in LA
Neighbours in STL

Excuse me? Mailloux is blowing Jiricek out of the water. Honestly we should be adding the pickThe Jackets are in the same position as the Ducks with more LD than RD, they have no reason to trade Jiricek.
There's always a parade of Habs fans who think they can move secondary quantity for high end prospects and players. It never ends.
Ftr... My oilers would also like provorov at the TDL. We will have accrued a lot of space and he can play with nurse on pair 2.
I'm a Provo fan. I agree he hasn't been the best lately. I certainly wouldn't want him to be my number 1 D that I build a team around. But as a 3/4 I think he'd be great and is UFA at end of season. I think he'd step into Edmonton and see some opportunity and step up. Plus it's his UFA year. He'd be replacing an Emberson or Stecher.. so he'd be an upgrade for sure.Oilers "insider" (cough, corpo mouthpiece) Bob Stauffer is now not so subtly hinting Stan Bowman is looking at Provorov and mentioned a timeline of two weeks, which lines up with U.S. Thanksgiving and the traditional make-or-break time for teams to be in playoff position.
I think that timeline makes double sense if Columbus wants to give Jiricek reps sooner than later so he doesn't get more frustrated and formally demand a trade. Plus, Provorov isn't playing great and you have to worry his value will drop even more if that keeps up.
I don't love Provorov for the Oilers, I think it's the wrong kind of player to go after and the wrong contract to bring in, but Bowman pretty much has to do something. If he can take advantage of the Jackets being in this awkward spot and give up less than at the deadline, let's do it I guess.

It would help my Oilers and Jiricek so I'm all for it.
I will say that Jiricek does need to do more though.
FTR... my ideal 2RD is Gudas or Larsson. Neither will come to Edmonton though. But that's the kind of guy I want with Nurse.
I do think
Ek Bouch
Nurse Provo
Would look damn good
Bowman needs a signature trade to make his mark.. so far, his tenure has been shit.
Seems that LHS is harder to get now. It feels like it was like that for D through the 2000's but it was harder to get LHS forwards... at least when the Ducks were good. Now it just feels like most of the top players are leftyThe Jackets have Marchenko and Severson as RHS. And Brindley on the way at wing. Other than that every long term piece is LHS. So we'd be in a comparable/worse position if we gave up Jiricek.
Ottawa offers Carter Yakemchuk
I don’t think Mailloux appreciates you mentioning his name with blowing anything with his history.Excuse me? Mailloux is blowing Jiricek out of the water. Honestly we should be adding the pick
Senators get a big, RHD that’s ready to contribute now - they just jump ahead 2 years in their time table with Jiricek.I think the Jackets should and would do that.
Why would the Sens? I suppose they're similar enough and Jiricek is a little closer to being useful now.
Aren't you a Habs fan?
How do you know they already haven't done this? The Jackets need to figure out what they’re gonna do with him. I don’t think his value has been effected yet, but it will be come the summer, if this continues. He should be playing top minutes every night in the AHL, but because of the tantrum he threw last year when they sent him down, it’s almost as if they’re scared he’ll take off to Europe or fail to report and demand a trade.
His agent needs to have a long conversation with him too. He’s 100% an NHL dman, with a nice future ahead. He just needs to develop more. Clean up his game and play with more intensity consistently.
His agent should show him what that extra time in the AHL did for Clarke and Edvinsson last year. It’s doing him no good keeping him in the NHL playing him like they have been. They’re wasting precious time in his development. He needs to play top minutes, in pro games. Period. Waddell knows this. That’s why you have to question what’s going on?
You’d almost think they cut a deal with him during camp. That they wouldn’t send him down. Something has to give though, because they’re wasting a development season he needs if he’s ever gonna be the player they thought, when they drafted him.
High-end D prospects need to play in the role they were drafted to play. If that role isn’t available in the NHL yet, then send him down. We’ve seen too many young dmen ruined by not playing the role they were drafted to play, and having the player work his way up the depth chart at the NHL level. They just don’t practice enough in the NHL, so they end up developing on the bottom pairing. Never used to playing the important minutes and role.
If they’re not gonna do that, then trade him.
Because outside fans know better and anything Jackets fans say otherwise is just cope, or so I’ve been repeatedly told in this very thread. How do you know they already haven't done this?
Not too sure the Sens would take Juricek for Yakemchuck. That links like a can’t miss star. Jackets would need to add a lot and even then that’s a risk the Sens just won’t take.Senators get a big, RHD that’s ready to contribute now - they just jump ahead 2 years in their time table with Jiricek.
Yakemchuk is great, but Jiricek would work better right now for the team and still has a ton of promise for the future.
