No one's calling them idiots. But I think anyone who denies that there's some serious smoke here is pulling the wool over their own eyes.
For most teams top prospects, there is no smoke, because GM's won't listen to anything reasonable for their guys, and since no one is making unreasonable offers for prospects, there are no conversations happening, no smoke to report on.
In Jiricek's case, there are a lot of conversations happening, a lot of smoke to report on, which likely means Columbus is willing to trade Jiricek for something reasonable, which is not the case for most top prospects.
This isn't just "open to hearing offers in case something comes along that blows me away" stuff, they are actively shopping him to see what they can get in return. They may not end up moving him, but currently he is way more likely to be moved than most teams top prospects of his caliber.
