Miller back to NYR?
For Chytil plus

would help alot at RW
Chytil is not the answer for Vancouver and there is a reason he is in every proposal now, and never available 2/3 years ago. He has not lived up to his potential and is considered a bust, hence in every Ranger proposal.
I guess it would be plausible though if you are adding Schneider and a first to him. Makes up for the Canucks having to take a nothing asset in return.

of course he is getting significant offers.

guy has 172 points in 174 games since coming to vancouver

leads them in hits, scoring, and even strength scoring while is on the 1st unit PK and PP during that time, and can play both wing and center and was 2nd in the league in face-off percentage one of those seasons

You only move Miller if you cant work out a decent extension because he has been a top20 player since being a Canuck.

If he moves on it will be a devastating loss for the Canucks
Miller should be asking for maximum term. So you’d be on the hook til he’s at least 37 or 38. If you can’t stomach that then you have to move him.

Lol does everyone realize they're talking about a top 20 forward in the NHL who is signed to a 5 mill deal for this year and next? He plays the PK, is great on the dot, works well as a C or on the wing. He's the perfect target for a contender. He's not returning Chytil and a 2nd. The asking price will be a 1st, a blue chip and a good young roster player with some salary.

Newhook + 1st + 2nd + Compher
Chytil + Schneider OR lundkvist + 1st

Something like that

Please, please, please do the smart thing and capitalize on an asset at the height of his value. For once.

If he walks, we are f***ed. He is the one trade chip we have that is set to return a massive haul (Hughes and Demko aren't moving, Pettersson is damaged goods, Boeser is having a down year).

nobody should be giving Miller 8yrs at 30??

i would suspect 5 to 6 is what he will be looking for

To rich for my blood he’s a rental

Chytil is only 22
He’s signed next year for $5 million so he is not a rental. He would easily get a first in each of the next two playoff runs plus the value of having him all of next season and the 20 games after the deadline. So that’s about 100 regular season games and two playoff runs. Understood if that is more value than the Rangers want to give up.

I'd say the price that the Canucks wouldnt be able to refuse is:

1st round pick
Top Prospect ( preferably Right Shot Dman)
3rd round pick

Miller would be a massive hole to replace for the Canucks. He is the heartbeat and energy of the team a true Alpha in the dressing room.

The way he combines top end skill with grit is something perfect for the playoffs and something that lacks in the rest of the Canucks young forward core.
If that is the return, I rather just keep Miller. Pretty dumb to give a top 10 NHL scorer away for a low 1st round pick and a garbage prospect lol

Yep so the price point for Miller at 1st, top prospect and 3rd is probably in the right ballpark.

I honestly cant picture one playoff team that wouldnt benefit from getting Miller but can you imagine if these teams added him:

Toronto
Tampa
Vegas
Colorado
Carolina

He can be used as a Centre or Winger. Kills penalties and plays the PP at half wall or net front. Literally a top end Swiss Army Knife
A 1st and top prospect is not much when Canucks traded a 2nd, Madden and another pick for strughling UFA Toffoli

You really think Miller will ask for 8 years at age of 30? He can ask but no one will give him that
