Depends on who the other experienced guy is.

If Guy Boucher (or another Boucher-esque coach) wants like $1.2mil, and Julien wants like $6mil, then I suggest you get ready for Boucher-mania.

Julien has the record to claim he's one of the best coaches in the league, if not THE best after Babcock (edit: and Daryl Sutter, Joel Quenneville). He would be more expensive than other "experienced" coaches like Yeo or Crawford or whoever else.

Just my gut opinion that he prices Melnyk out.

I'd interview him and ask for specifics on systems he'd use with the current group. If he ever mentioned a 1-3-1, I'd use the trap door Dorion has in Murray's old office to drop Boucher into a pit of hungry beavers.

To me this was the biggest issue. We were a hot mess in our own end at even strength and on the PK. Just a disaster. The fact that this issue couldn't be corrected, or even addressed, was a huge warning sign.
