I'm hoping for Julien. I don't see another decent option out there. And he'll tell us if our team is lazy or not as well.

IF* we do indeed land Julien, would he likely bring some coaches and players over from Boston with him?....perhaps we could make a trade involving a core player like Marchand...and considering Sweeney is running things in bean town......nothing would surprise me.

Or just sign free agents Eriksson and Lucic?

He did nothing notable. I'd hardly call the Majors perennial contenders in his tenure. They were an average team for the most part with 2 good seasons with a bunch of older players for the better of the two seasons. The only reason they went to the memorial cup was because of their host status. That's not a perennial contender. A perennial contender is what the Hunters do in London or what Patrick Roy did in Quebec. Cameron us no Hunter or Roy (and those guys are bad NHL coaches to boot).

No, those are not perennial contenders. Those are basically dynasties, or at least as close to dynasty-status as you can get in Major Junior hockey.

Cameron got the most out of a terrible roster with no top-tier talent. Had the best record in his conference 2 out of 4 years. Made the OHL conference finals 3 straight years with teams that had no business whatsoever being there. Give him some credit.

No one here is arguing that he's a good NHL coach, there's no need to get your guard up over this, literally everyone in HFSens is glad he's gone... but he's definitely a good Junior coach. Give the man the credit he deserves at that level.

According to Garrioch, we will be looking for a coach with experience. He also says that the Sens are not interested in coaches like Carlyle or Crawford and that Julien will be the top candidate if he is fired from Boston.

Garrioch saying that julien would be the top candidate if fired. He knows more about the sens budget and process than we do so if says we are gonna pursue him I'm gonna get my hopes a little higher now

This seems inevitable. He's a friend/relative of Murray and he would work cheap. I'd also love Julien, would have preferred Babcock but at $10,000,000 a season or whatever he's getting paid. that probably wasn't happening.

Happy Cameron is gone, he was a loser. Need a system coach, game is all about systems at high levels.

Yes, Julien should be the top choice if available. Also my best wishes to Dave Cameron going forward.

What does it mean "... coaches like Carlyle or Crawford".

They are NHL experienced, so would seem to fit the bill... is there some other attribute that those two guys have that would exclude them?

Of course i'd love for it to happen but I think there is 0(ZERO) chance we get Julien and it comes down to $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Julien would not be cheap.

Yes, that attribute is that they are bad coaches/ coaches who clearly are not fit for the post-lockout NHL.

What if he wants Babcock-esque money?

Then our chances of hiring Claude Julien are thoroughly boned.

This is the exact tweet:

My belief is the #Sens don't have much interest in Randy Carlyle or Marc Crawford #Sens

Sorry if my wording confused you.

I think they just don't want any washed up coaches.
