This is why they'll never win a cup. Even if he was okay they might have a chance. I just realized this is only year two of the contract
He doesn't have situational awareness. He just saw an opportunity to score and ignored the two Nucks behind him. That said, Foegele can't miss on that shot. Also, what the hell was Ceci doing?
Watch Darnell on this shift, you won't believe it
In your incorrect opinion. as usualTry overpaid by about 3.25 million
False, but to be expected from a fan of the team he plays forIn your incorrect opinion. as usual
This was a complete mess for basically everyone on the ice. Both defensemen pinched? Why? That's novice level mistakes, and it isn't just the players, its also on the coaching - this stuff happens too often, and has been for years. He doesn't have situational awareness. There is no communication between Nurse / Ceci. None at all. Each playing as individuals and looking for offense.
It will be near impossible to upgrade on Ceci. No one will want him without a sweetener.
Love the end where he made sure if VAN didn't score they would have gotten a PP so he could vent his frustration over being stupid.

That was a terrible pinch, hard to even comprehend and so unnecessary. Of course that was bad awareness by the d-men but I also think the Oilers coaching preaches the 5 man unit and like the d-man to be up in the play but you have to be smart enough to pick your spots especially being tied or holding a lead in a game. Even though the Oilers dominated most of the game on Saturday the Canucks still didn't give the Oilers any freebee goals. The Oilers had to work for all their goals. The Canucks didn't have some ridiculous novice level breakdown that lead to a goal at a key time, the Oilers seem to give up at least one freebee goal almost every game and often at key times in the game. Goaltending also plays a part as well as the Canucks probably got 8-10 quality saves out of their goalie, the Oilers didn't seem to get any. The Oilers can get away with giving up easy goals in the regular season but if they consistently do that in the playoffs like they did against Vegas they are never winning the Cup.This was a complete mess for basically everyone on the ice. Nurse takes the blame for a lot of Ceci mistakes. They need to get Ceci off his pair.Daryl Sutter is basically the coach Nurse needs. He would turn him into a beast, but as is he's overpaid.
Also Ceci is probably more at fault on that 2-on-0 play though both of them should be slapped upside the head, and lol Foegele, get the puck on net you bozo.

His partner makes more mistakes than he does. Nurse has had an awful start to the year - really, everyone has when you drop game 1 with 8 goals against. But him getting all of the blame is ridiculous too. He has a couple of issues but the "get Nurse off the ice" narrative is stupid. They need to get nurse off the ice. It’s ridiculous how much blame his partner gets.
At some point it’s on him.
Also why didn’t Foegele pass the puck to a wide open Nurse? lolThis was a complete mess for basically everyone on the ice. Both defensemen pinched? Why? That's novice level mistakes, and it isn't just the players, its also on the coaching - this stuff happens too often, and has been for years.

Just a total breakdown of epic proportions. Also why didn’t Foegele pass the puck to a wide open Nurse? lol
Funny, because the best hockey that Bear ever played was with Nurse. The best hockey Barrie played since his Colorado days was with Nurse. Bouchard doesn't work well with Nurse because they both focus too much on offense. I fail to see how listing three offense only defensmen really makes any point other than the one many Oilers fans have often said - that we need a more stable partner for Nurse. Nurse is great in a lot of ways. The stats back that up. The eye test always doesn't, and I believe that does mean something. To me, it means that Nurse should have a shutdown partner. He shouldn't be relied on to be jumping up in the play while also being a defensive force. So if the Oilers can find another shutdown defenseman to pair with Nurse, that's probably the best bet. We’ve been hearing this his entire career as an oiler.
Can’t put him with bear, cause bear sucks.
Can’t put him with Barrie, cause barrie sucks.
Can’t put him with Bouchard. Cause Bouchard sucks.
Meanwhile, Ekholm comes in and is able to play perfectly fine with Bouchard and elevate his game. Seems to me ekholm is just better plain and simple. Maybe nurse is the one that needs baby sitting himself.
And that’s crazy tunnel vision if you think that it’s just been a bad two games for darnell.
There will be no discussion on retention.
Then close the thread he’ll be an oil throughout that contractThere will be no discussion on retention.
It would cost way more than thatYou'd have to include a first rounder just to get rid of that contract without retention.
Jeff Skinner@50% retained, Noah Ostlund and 1st for Darnel Nurse @50% retained
Because D> wingers and Nurse at that cap hit is extremely valuable ( I was also thinking skinner had only 2 years left )1) Skinner has a NMC.
2) Holy shit why would Buffalo do this?
3) You should get a warning for making a proposal this bad. You gotta be trolling, right?
Not this oneEvery Nurse is in demand and underpaid.
